BU postgame thread--BU 76 ISU 75

I just want to the team to focus everything they have on winning a very winnable game on Saturday night...This is the game we MUST have right now...
Win on Saturday and we can start thinking about getting away from that Thursday night mess and getting above .500 and staying there...but for now, just get one win on Saturday against a depleted Wichita State team...please?

I'm looking forward to lighting up a cigar and watching this game on the archives over the weekend. After reading the stats, it's hard to beleive BU won the games. For example:

Points in Paint
ILS-40; BU-14

Points off Turnovers
ILS-20; BU-13

2nd Chance Points
ILS-17; BU-10

FG %
ILS - 48.3%; BU-46.8%

Rebounds
ILS-35; BU-25

3 Pointers
ILS - 5/19 26.3%; BU - 13/28 46.4%
3 point shooting (was it called Fool's Gold by Dave Reynolds?) once again saves the day for BU

Congrats to the Braves for pulling one out that would appear to be one that they should have lost based on the game stats.
Was Illinois State pounding the ball inside enough? Seems like they would have wanted to take advantage of the inside game and maybe get the foul line more than 17 times.

After backing out Illinois State's 3 point shots, the stats indicte that they shot over 60% from 2 point land making 23 of 38 attempts for the game. Wow. What was Illinois State thinking to take 11 three point attempts in the 2nd half after making 12 of 19 shots from inside the arc in the first half?

OK, this is my last post on the ISU game, but this is a human interest story.

Over MLK weekend, I traveled back to South Padre, scene of the SPI tournament that we all remember. Anyway, I walk into a restaurant with my parents to have dinner. My Dad, my son, and I are all wearing BU sweatshirts. At the table next to us are several people in Illini attire and a couple with Illinois State attire. I had nice, albeit brief, conversation with them about college hoops. The bar help was impressed with the dedication of the midwest fans to their respective schools and none of thse teams were within a 1,000 miles of South Padre.

No Slack and Sampay was in foul trouble. Pretty simple. Dyer is awful lately and doesn't play inside anyway. That pretty much answers it for you. Dinma is not a go-to guy in the paint offensively.

Thanks. Those are the sort of things you can't tell from the stat sheet. I can't wait to watch the archived video of the game.
