BU recruit 2014- Josh Cunningham

Not bad.....before even scoring his 1st basket Josh created a buzz with a high of 307 users with just his verbal to the Braves!

I appreciate how Josh said " I want to HELP Bradley get to the NCAA tournament." Would have been easy for someone to say "I want to get them there", but from the sounds of it he's a team player.

Can't wait for next year!!!

Please, Please, Please no more thursdays!!!

Still excited.......a TOP 100 player committing to the Braves to go with another one in Shaw....nice building blocks for the program!

A few excerpts...

"Josh Cunningham Commits

Maybe it was how hard he was recruited. Maybe it was the ability to be the
face of a program. Either way, Josh Cunningham waited out the recruiting
process and explored all levels. At the conclusion, he decided against the
norm and went lower than anticipated.

Josh Cunningham turned down BCS level programs for Bradley.
Ranked No. 88 in the Rivals150, the 2014 forward from Morgan Park (IL)
was considering St. John's, DePaul, Bradley, Creighton, Indiana, Iowa
State, Nebraska, South Carolina, Oklahoma and others. As he took many
visits, and seemed to be leaning toward certain schools - including Indiana
and South Carolina - at times. Towards the end, however, the inevitable
seemed to be coming as Cunningham was going to surprise some people.

The inevitable did happen on Tuesday. After delaying his first two attempts
at a decision, Cunningham gave a verbal commitment to Bradley.

Coming off of a 20 loss season, this couldn't be any better for Geno Ford in
giving his program and school hope going forward. As the Braves haven't
been all that relevant since the Patrick O'Bryant days, this gives the four-
star recruit an opportunity to be a star player as opposed to being a role
player, or have a minimal impact, at a bigger program. Can Cunningham
turn the program around, though?

Bradley is getting a very active, gritty forward who wants to be a small
forward down the road. As he can be used as an undersize power forward
because of how hard he plays on offense and defense, Cunningham will be
used in a multitude of ways during his freshman campaign."

Welcome to the Hilltop Josh! Looking forward to watching what you can do. Everything I've seen about this young man has been nothing but positive both on and off the court. The key thing is how quickly all the newcomers can come together and work as a unit. I expect by the 2015-16 season for us to be contenders for the MVC. Will be really disappointed if we land in the play in game again next season. Look forward to Josh being the Pide Pipper for BU.

Happy days are here again
The red and white will be feared again
So let's fill those seats and cheer again
Happy days are here again!

You will love it at BU, Josh. Can't wait for you to get here!

This young man comes off a lot wiser and thoughtful than his age might suggest. He's quite impressive in his thought process. He made good sense regarding his logic for this decision. His decision is good for him and good for Bradley. It's going to be fun to watch him develop and chase his dreams. Josh, welcome to Bradley! ONCE A BRAVE, ALWAYS A BRAVE. Welcome home.
