Bradley is listed as recruiting Larry Anderson, a 6'5" forward playing at Winchendon Prep School, in Winchendon, Massachusetts. He is originally from Long Beach, California.
He is a 3-star player on Scout, and a 2-star player on Rivals. He plays small forward at Winchendon, but he sees himself as a 2-guard at the college level.
He plays on the same team as 7'2" John Riek, the top unsigned player in the country, but Anderson is the team's leading scorer and rebounder.

Scout.com has a new "insider" article by head recruiting expert Dave Telep profiling Anderson.

Oregon State offered. “Oregon State said they want me to commit. They asked to commit but I’m going to wait until the end of the season.”
Count California, Bradley, Xavier, Arizona State, Wyoming and Long Beach State as programs in the mix. Xavier watched him play last week,” according to Anderson. Johnson said Anderson is seeking the best fit. Whether its mid level or higher.

The article noted is from the Wyoming Scout site, CowboyBlitz.com.

It talks about Larry Anderson, and that Wyoming continues to recruit him along with Bradley, Xavier, Oregon State, and Long Beach State. He says he is wide open, but he would like to get an offer from Southern Cal.

???I averaged like 24 (points)??¦eight rebounds, four assists and like three steals (this season),??? he said.
???I??™m just taking it slow,??? he said. ???I??™m not really sure yet.???
"At first I??¦wanted to stay on the West Coast, but now it??™s pretty much open,??? he said. ???I??™m not really worried about the weather now.???
Anderson plays forward for Winchendon but has the versatility to compete at the ???one, two and three??? positions next year??”something that has made him an attractive prospect for the Cowboys of late.

Any final word on Larry?

Any final word on Larry?

I haven't heard any word on him lately. That makes me think he has eliminated us, But you never know. His game sounds like Marcus Pollard to me. 6-5 competitor rebounds needs work on outside shot. Marcus was one of my favorites. If Marcus was 6-8 or 6-9 he would probably be playing pro basketball instead of football.

One of the schools Larry Anderson had considered, Xavier, just got a commitment from Terrell Holloway.
Holloway is a 6' point guard who had originally committed to Kelvin Sampson and Indiana, but he was released from his LOI.
They now have 5 commitments for 2008, including 4 guards, and that puts them 1 over the scholarship limit now, so it looks like this takes them out of the running for Larry Anderson.

You Forget

You Forget

You forget how well we have it here with all the info at one site. I just spent a couple of hours trying to find any info on Larry. I am still hopeful we could get him. I can't find anything. I even tried to go to a few sites for Oregon State, Long beach,Xavier just to see if anyone was mentioning him. Not only can I find no info, I can't even locate active boards. We're lucky.

all very true and well said LC.

Now what am I going to do with my time. I have been doing internet searches for a week trying to see where he went. I've got no players left that I know of to check on. I may actually have to look forward to next season with what we have and be pleasantly surprised if we get an addition.

Not in my book...I have faith in this coaching staff and there are hundreds of kids out there that we on this board know nothing about and we will all be surprised by what this staff will uncover!

Larry Anderson is a nice player, and would have had a nice career at Bradley. I think he will be a star at Long Beach State.
And I believe he wanted to come here, but if this is ture, the fact that Bradley didn't have room for him is probably a good thing. It means we have some pretty special players coming in next year. And I agree with Big Mike, I don't think the roster is set yet, which means there could be players yet to come that Bradley liked better than Anderson.

A couple articles about Larry Anderson signing with Long Beach State--

The 49ers announced that two standouts at east coast prep schools - including Larry Anderson, a 2007 Jordan High graduate - have signed national letters of intent and will be freshmen with the program in September.
The 6-5 Anderson, a three-year standout for Coach Ron Massey when he played for the Panthers, averaged 22 points and six rebounds per game this past season at Winchendon Prep in Massachusetts.
Anderson was selected the Most Valuable Player in three tournaments at Winchendon and also made recruiting visits to Bradley, DePaul and Xavier.
"Larry is a multi-dimensional wing who adds athleticism, experience and versatility to us," Monson said in a press release.

Once in a while I go back and look at recruits I would have liked to get to see how they fared. Most of the time they don't turn out that great but Larry Anderson sounds like he is going to have a good career. I really would have liked to sign him. You never know if we would have signed Norris or received a comit from Wilkins if we had signed Anderson though.

Anderson named first team all big west, and Freshman of the year.
