A recruting site is reporting that Bradley offered a scholarship yesterday to 2010 basketball recruit Kameron Cerroni. He is a 6'2" combo guard from Sussex Hamilton High School, in Wisconsin. He is described as the best shooter in the state of Wisconsin. He received 3 Division I offers yesterday, from Bradley, Oakland and UW-Milwaukee, to go with the 3 previous offers he had from Loyola-Chicago, Portland and Green Bay. He plays for the Wisconsin Playground Warriors U16 team, and has put up some strong performances this summer. He has also been getting interest in recent weeks from Butler, Creighton, Davidson, George Mason, Northern Iowa, Northwestern and Southern Methodist.

And Scout had a nice article about Kameron Cerroni last February. It is a premium article, and requires a password to read.--

Here are a couple clips from the article--

Kamerson Cerroni had to get used to a scoring role this year for Hamilton, but the transition didn't take long, as the sophomore is third in Wisconsin in scoring.Last season Kameron Cerroni was Sussex (Wisc.) Hamiltons point guard, now, just a sophomore, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound guard is the team's go-to scorer and he's proving that in the state tournament.
Despite a fourth place finish in the Greater Metro conference, Cerroni has led Hamilton (14-8 ) to the third round of the WIAA state tournament. In the first round against Waukesha North he went for 28 points, then he backed up that effort with a 23-point outing against against Arrowhead.
On the season Cerroni is averaging 27 points a game and has gone for over 40 on two occasions. To go with his high point total, he also gets five assists and five steals per contest.
Although just a sophomore, Cerroni has picked up interest from a host of schools. UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee and Northern Illinois have made a strong impression on him early on. Hes also heard from Drake, North Dakota State, Portland, Wisconsin, Marquette and Iowa.

Kameron Cerroni is playing in Las Veags this week for his AAU team the Wisconsin Playground Warriors. They lost thier first game Tuesday, but Cerroni had 30 points.
Here is what Rivals reported about him--
Even though his Wisconsin Playground Warriors team lost, class of 2010 guard Kameron Cerroni was impressive. The 6-foot-1 guard scored 30 good-looking points. He's a crafty customer with some funk and spunk mixed in as well. A sure-fire mid-level player coming into the event, Cerroni may have played at a level where a high-major could turn up the heat in the near future.

It is surprising how early some of these kids are committing, even to lower mid-majors. Cerroni is a class of 2010 shooting guard that Bradley liked.

Rivals and Scout are reporting his commitments to UW-GB--

Here are a couple other stories about him, and his coach, who happens to be his father--

Here is a clip of what Van Coleman of Hoopmasters says about Kameron and his decision this morning--
We received a heads up this morning from Wisconsin Playground Warriors Director Ritchie Davis that his sweet shooting guard, 6-2 175-pound, Kameron Cerroni has committed to Wisconsin Green Bay.

"
Kameron Cerroni gave a verbal commitment to Tod Kowalczyk and the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay this morning," Davis told Hoopmasters. "He led all scorers in Wisconsin's largest class (Division 1) of schools at 26.2 ppg. He also shot a blistering 90.1% from the charity stripe."

Kameron Cerroni chose Wisconsin Green Bay over offers from Bradley, Loyola-Chicago, Oakland, Portland, and Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He also received significant interest from Butler, Creighton, Davidson, George Mason, Northern Iowa, Northwestern and SMU.

Kameron Cerroni, an outstanding class of 2010 shooter from Sussex Hamilton High School in Sussex County, Wisconsin that Bradley offered, but he committed to UW-Green Bay, has had a really unfortunate injury.
Cerroni is considered the best pure shooter in Wisconsin, and one of the best in the country. But he tore his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in his right knee in a football game this past Friday. He is his high school's starting quarterback. He injured his knee on the 3rd play of the game, but continued to play until late in the 3rd quarter, including running, passing and punting.

He will need surgery to repair the ACL, and he will miss his entire 2009-2010 basketball season. He averaged 21.7 ppg as a junior. UW-GB is saying they will honor the scholarship offer, and expect him to recover and play there in the fall of 2010. This is the same injury Will Egolf suffered.

ACL tears can be greatly complicated if there are also severe meniscus (cartilege) tears ...so time will tell if the kid can come back...
