BU Recruit for 2008-Kwamain Mitchell

Van Coleman is reporting that we are involved with Kwamain Mitchell from Whitefish Bay (WI) Dominican. He is a 6-foot 175 lb point guard. St. Louis, Akron, Wisc Green Bay are involved with Marquette, Minnesota, Utah and Witchita State showing some interest. He visited StL last week. Rivals lists him with interest from only Iowa State and no stars. Scout lists him as 3 stars with interest from Northern Iowa, Washington State and Western Michigan along with some of the other schools listed above.

This is the first I have heard of this kid. Anyone know anything else about him ?

We did come across his name last year, and here is the topic from then. He is a combo guard similar to Dwight Buycks that Jim Les has known about and followed for a long time. --

I'm slightly worried about the impact of Majerus to SLU on BU's recruiting...

It's not Majerus doing the recruiting as much as it's Moser. Porter can recruit and Mitchell was a target of Moser's while he was at ISU. he was instrumental in getting a verbal from Brett Thompson and I also think St Louis will get Matt Roth.

Not that Majerus isn't a factor, just that Moser was in on a lot of these guys for a while now from when he was at ISU. I know he was interested in Mitchell going back to last summer.

Moser will land some people in St. Louis

DC...with all due respect why do you feel PoMo can recruit? He got average to below average talent (save for O) at ISU. Just asking....

In a word, yes. Porter Moser can most certainly recruit. bench coaching is another issue, but he can sell a recruit very well.

I would say Lorenzo Gordon wasn't below average, neither is Bobby Hill or as you mention Osiris. All those guys were/are far above average. Justin Dentmon is far above average (I know he didn't end up there) Levi Dyer is above average. I think Porter is a good recruiter, yes. I think it will be shown with what he brings to St. Louis U. The difference is that Majerus will most likely have success in developing them. I would say Slack, Richardson and Johnson are at least above average. We'll see about Odzic, Dinma and Rubin
