Bu...uni...ksu....slu...

Oh yea, that's what every recruit and potential recruit wants to hear :o

Thats why I said I know they don't want to hear that:)......but hey, its a fact of MANY succesful programs. A guy like Eastman, with a dad as a headcoach, might understand its his best way to get to the next level OR just improve his chances of succeeding in college.

And, for a guy like DSE it may be a way to get more PT with guards graduating earlier in his playing career.

Look at Norris, had he r/s'd MAYBE he would have stayed...I dunno.

I'm not saying its going to or SHOULD happen....its more just talk on a slow Sunday to generate some conversation.

I really don't want to lose a recruiting battle to that slimeball Frank Martin. I mean come on. So they're Big 12. Big deal. They'll be nothing more than Jayhawk bait for the next 4 years. Meanwhile BU will be building a national program. Easy call IMO.

Red Shirts

Red Shirts

I would love to see us get to the point where we could get kids to red shirt.. at least some of them. Sadly it just doesn't happen in basketball the way it does in football. Someone somewhere always promises PT immediately and that's a heck of a lot more fun than riding the pine with no chance of getting in a game.

It would help a lot of these kids to sit a year.. get a year of school under their belts.. get bigger physically.. and learn the system before ever having to worrying about playing in a game.. and still having 4 years to play.

But try to convince a 17 year old all of that is true!

According to Reynolds blog you caN TAKE OUT slu...ITS uni,bu AND ksu. Plans on taking visits....won't decide until May. Hasn't officially visited any of them.

Also who likes fighting through all those clothes:roll:

PTTB......last I heard on DSE......he'd prefer his women not be 100% corn fed!

Some of you are acting like Peoria isn't in central Illinois where corn grows fairly fertile! :) The only pro to living in Peoria as compared to Waterloo-CF (besides the couple degrees colder as some point out) is that we don't have an Avanti's! :) That alone makes me want to move to Peoria or B-N.

But, if DSE wants to play in NCAA tourneys, then maybe UNI is the choice for him, as we've been there 4 of the last 6 years, and every player who has come in since 2000 that has stayed all four years has played in an NCAA Tourney. :)

Just playing around with you BU fans...we can't touch your Sweet Sixteen and Hersey Hawkins years (and beyond). :)

I think the point he's getting at also is that Peoria is a central focus to larger cities. You can drive 3 hours N to Chicago, 4 hours S to STL, and 3 hours E to Indianapolis.

It really takes you 4 hours? Wow, I must really book it when I get there 2 hours and 30 minutes on a consistent basis.

Honest question. When in college, how often did you leave campus to go to one of those metro areas during the school year? And how often do you think student-athletes have time to do such travels also?

depends...my son who goes to college about an hour from Chicago, goes into the city almost every single weekend...
if he were 2.5 hours away, then he probably wouldn't at all....you'd be surprised how they find all that extra time to spend on weekends!

I think you're forgetting about Dodie for next year, I don't understand why everyone sees him as a 3. He's a natural PG, we just play so small he slots in at the 3. He started in the Big 12 as a pg 2 yrs ago. I actually prefer him running the point to EM, our roster was just so weird that he was at the 3 this year. I have no problem playing 3 guards, but when we look at TW as a 4, or rule out someone as pg because they're over 6 ft, we've got problems...
(Sorry, that mini-rant wasn't aimed at you fish)

Actually, Dodie did not start at ISU and when he played, he was used as a shooting guard. He never showed me much as a point guard while at ISU. He is a shooting guard IMO.

Dodie played in all 31 games for Iowa State in 2006-2007, and he was a starter in 2 of them. He averaged 22.3 minutes per game, 6th highest on the team. Dodie was basically their 6th man, and was usually the first player off the bench when he wasn't starting. Though he may not have played a lot at the point, he did play some point guard, especially early in the season.
I recall him playing point against Bradley for part of the game on 12/16/06 in Des Moines, and he tied for the team lead in assists that game. He was the first sub off the bench and replaced starting PG Mike Taylor in the first half of that game, and actually started the second half.
