BU vs ISU postgame

Getting swept by our rival, even when the rival is good, is cause for major concern. Getting swept by a rival when they're 4-13 is a major sin, no matter the circumstances around your own team.

And it's a shame how bad the quality of basketball was in the season series. Just awful.

Of course, we all know being forced to travel for BB and play on the ensuing Tuesday is obviously unfair and the reason we lost. [/sarcasm]

I'm willing to bet all sensible ISU fans aren't going to be happy about that court rush.

For the last month, the only game that mattered (in my book) was this game. Once the first ISU game and the subsequent national TV game vs. Wichita passed by with double embarrassment, I committed myself to not being results-oriented the rest of the year, except for this game.

So that ended well.

Agreed about the sensible ISU fans.

And sorry about this game ending the way it did.

Do you think we shot well enough to beat anybody tonight?

We shot well to be up 1 point with 15 seconds left until a ridiculous games changing foul on dse gives isu the lead despite alex rubin creating much greater contact every time down the floor for the entire game.

Maybe he should, and he is not alone. Bad as they are and they swept us.

Well I didn't see anybody on the ISU team besides Carmichael that I would want. That is why I am ready for change. They looked worse than us and we still lost. And he still has two years left but I am still ready to say I am glad we didn't get Wilkins. I heard people earlier in the year say that and thought that was premature. But all I see is height and not much else. Maybe a OK 8th or 9th man.

Like the last game, they get a foul to take the lead, then maul Warren and the refs let the clock run out...total bs.

Jason how can you put the blame there. Did you not see how bad we were. I'm not saying the refs had a good game tonight but we are pathetic. I would be embarressed to put any blame other then where it belongs. WE are NOT good period.

True. Any bad ref call is enhanced with our limited margin for error. And when we only score 50 points, we deserve to lose, period!

Warren got mauled again at the end tonight, but Jim had already called a TO...wonder if they would have called it had we not called the TO??? If not, then I'd be upset at the refs...as it is, I'm upset with our offense...

I wasn't saying he got mauled tonight. I was saying last time we played at Carver. Sorry if it was a little confusing.

Huh? How did we shoot "well" when we only scored 50 points this game? If we are up by 5, that "ridiculous game changing foul" on DSE would not be a game changing foul. It would just be a bad foul that did not decide the outcome of the game.

If BU has the same offensive output they had the last four or five games, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Agreed. Both games were tough to watch. There weren't even stretches of good basketball.

You said it! Both just ugly ugly games. This is horrible.

You know, I tried to warn everyone when I said...

and I quote...

"These (are) two bad men??™s college basketball teams playing a bad game that (was likely) badly officiated."

Makes you wonder what BU staff saw in JW?

I actually hope JW turns out to be a good player.

Otherwise, it just adds to my frustration with the program....
