THE STORYLINE
Bradley will start the second half of the Missouri Valley Conference schedule by hosting Illinois State in the seasons's first installment of the annual Interstate 74 Rivalry series Wednesday night at Carver Arena ... While the Braves are trying to snap their longest losing streak in 19 years, Illinois State got its first Valley win Sunday and will be shooting for consecutive victories for the first time since mid-December ... Wednesday's game will be the 111th in the all-time series, which dates back to the 1904-05 season, and the Braves hold a 61-49 advantage against Illinois State ... Five players on the two active rosters grew up in the middle of the Interstate 74 Rivalry: Bradley's Dodie Dunson (Bloomington), Jordan Prosser (Goodfield) and Dyricus Simms-Edwards (Peoria); and Illinois State's Matt Coates (Peoria) and Blake Mishler (Metamora).
WEDNESDAY PROMOTIONS
Wednesday's game will be a White Out at Carver Arena and the first 10,000 fans will receive a free Bradley Basketball white t-shirt, courtesy of Methodist Medical Center and the Hotels at Grand Prairie ... Game Changers Dunk team will perform at halftime ... The Bradley Red Sea is sponsoring a poster design contest and a pregame photo booth behind Section 6 -- visit www.bradleyredsea.com for more information ... Head coaches Jim Les and Tim Jankovich will be the featured speakers at Wednesday's Braves Club Gameday Luncheon.
AGAINST ILLINOIS STATE
Wednesday's game will be the 111th meeting in the all-time series between Bradley and Illinois State, which dates back to a 39-13 ISU win in 1904-05 ... Bradley owns a 61-49 lead in the all-time series, including a 40-16 home record against the Redbirds ... Illinois State, however, has won three straight in the series and will be seeking a fourth consecutive win against the Braves for the first time since its series-best 7-game win streak from March 4, 1982-Jan. 26, 1985 ... Ninth-year Bradley head coach Jim Les owns an 10-7 record against Illinois State, a 7-1 home record against the Redbirds and a 2-4 record head-to-head versus fourth-year Illinois State head coach Tim Jankovich.
TOUGH FIRST HALF
While it naturally will even out by season's end, Bradley played the most difficult conference schedule through the first half of the league race ... Bradley's nine Valley opponents have combined for a 51-30 record in league play, including a 42-30 mark in the games that did not involve the Braves ... Wednesday opponent Illinois State played the second-toughest first-half schedule: the nine Redbird opponents were 48-33, 40-32 in the non ISU games.
SLOW STARTS
Bradley has started slow in all nine first halves of conference play so far this year ... The Braves are averaging 25.1 points on 37.4 percent shooting from the field and have yet to top 32 points in Valley first halves this season ... Making Bradley's first-half situation worse, the nine Valley opponents have averaged 35.6 points on 49.0 percent field goal shooting in the first 20 minutes ... Bradley has trailed at halftime in eight of the first nine Valley games, facing an average deficit of 10.5 points at the break ... Conversely, Bradley is averaging 39.7 points on 48.3 percent shooting in the nine Valley second halves.
LOOKING AHEAD
Following Wednesday's brief home appearance, Bradley will return to the road for three of its next four games ... The Braves will visit league preseason favorite Wichita State Saturday for a 1 p.m. game that will be televised nationally on espn2 ... Bradley will host Creighton Feb. 1 in a 7:05 p.m. game, then will return to the road for games Feb. 5 at Southern Illinois and Feb. 9 at Missouri State.

Do you think if both teams were around .500 or better in the Valley, the BU fans would be riding JW during the game?
Just don't want to see him lighting it up, as we've been creating unsung heroes lately on opposing teams. That would add insult to injury.

BU's "Superbowl" game - none bigger than this for the season. Hopefully we don't get down by 2 touchdowns early like we're accustomed to. ;-)

Usually I'm very hyped for this game which means that I would skip class and get some to cover for me at work, but I can't say I have that feeling for tonight, ergo I won't be there. But still hoping for a W.

can't say that I saw too many positives from this game. except for the fact that Warren hit some tough shots at the end when we needed them.

Worst bullshit ref hackjob ever.
On the Mvc board Kissenger and Steed were pretty much of the popular opinion, as the worst officials in the league. Its only fitting the two worst teams would draw the two worst refs in the league. Not my opinion necessarly but opinion of MVC board. I will say not a very good worked game but neither team should be happy. If you don't shoot free throws any better then we do you deserve to lose period. I won't even go into the "T". What the hell was he thinking? Its time to go.
