He was tossed in the first half and remained dressed and on the bench. He didn't change until halftime.

I noticed that too, thats just the response we got.

And when their one player was taunting many yelled out SCOREBOARD.

Yeah that was unbelievable. I had been doing everything possible to keep the 'Sea classy and not taunting, then he did that? We couldn't believe it... We didn't even think about doing a 'Drive home safely or anything because that was just adding insult to injury.

I love the line-up when it is Ruffin, Crouch, Warren, Salley, and Collins.

If Collins can make good passes after he gets the rebound, that would be great. Our guards do a good job of getting him the ball, once he gets his hands ready, he can be really dangerous.

Will Egolf looks like the type of player that is going to be great as an upperclassman

Anyone have the box score for the game?
I should have posted this! I also love that lineup and smiled as soon as I saw them on the floor together! I absolutely love watching Egolf on defense and running the floor when we get a steal! He's looking more and more comfortable all the time....as are the others that are playing their first D-1 ball!

Any thoughts on why they called a timeout with a minute left and down by almost 30? The only idea that came to mind was to give the fans a reason to leave early, which in turn would show the Bradley players the fans wern't supporting them. Any thoughts?

My explanation was that he appeared to want to put a 4th starter back into the game. Maybe he was protesting what he thought was unfair treatment by the refs. I have never seen a coach call a timeout late like that to a put starter back into the game when it was so hopeless.

Pssst.....Andrew Warren is coming. For those of you weren't at the game, even though it was a severely outmatched opponent you missed a coming out party for Andrew Warren. I think Andrew is taking a huge step in front of our eyes and will be a bigger part of this team offensively than I anticipated.

i've also been very pleased with Warren's development. He is a really good finisher, and with his size and shooting ability can be a real nightmare mis-match for pretty much anybody in the valley.

also good to see coach Les playing 2 bigs at a time down the stretch.

Granted, this wasn't a great opponent, but we looked pretty good.

although, if they make their free throws its a much closer game.

I think the coach took the timeout to have his team hold the ball on their last possession tell the shot clock was just about out so that BU would not make it to 100 points knowing we would not shoot the ball on our last possession; Andrew Warren can have more games like this as soon as he decides to be more aggressive on offense as he can get his own shots without the help of anyone screening for him; Austin has potential as he set good screens and rolled to the basket like a good inside player should; Salley has been disappointing to me in that he is not in the right place to score much and has not rebounded as well as I expected him to; I think he needs to be a lot more aggressive on the boards.

I also thought they called time out to hold the ball and keep the Braves from reaching 100! For some reason today MS had bad hands as more than one rebound or inside pass slipped right thru his mits? Maybe a little taste of the game action will get RA practicing harder and getting him into the rotation!

Back from the game a bit ago, how bout these Braves. Yes MD-Eastern Shore was like watching a fresh-soph high school game but the more important stat was it got the new guys some shots and they made them shots, lots of them. I'm almost salivating over what Collins could do with 25-35 minutes a game and take more control of the offense. He had 10 points and 14 boards on only 3 shots and 6 free throws! Give that man 10-15 shots a game and Bradley will be a force with the outside threat to pair with it. DC's 7 TO's are easily preventable. Most of them were lazy throws after getting a rebound, not expecting MD-ES to play aggressively being down so much. This team is getting better by strides each game.

I wish I could agree with that. Collins just has to be smarter with the ball. He'd grab the board and just toss it to anyone he saw. He HAS to see the entire floor...and he doesn't. I hope they can fix it...not only with Collins but quite a few guys.

They need to VALUE the ball....good teams will kill us if we don't.

I think Collins has made some good contributions but he has to cut down on the turnovers if he expects to see many minutes in conference play.

I agree that Matt S has not performed some things that I would have hoped for after the hype he was given based on what he was doing in practice. I will say that his defense is far better than Collins, Egolf or Austin. He will be seriously needed for defense in the Valley. Right now I am afraid Collins could foul out very, very quickly against certain Valley centers.

I was impressed with the improvement I saw in Egolf today. I think he could be very good in time to come. I look forward to him and Anthony Thompson together someday with Andrew Warren.

It is possible this team could be better next year than this year even with the loss of Ruff and JC. With what I am seeing, if Maniscalco can run the team next year, Collins, Singh, Egolf, Thompson, Warren, Wilson, TCS, Austin and the newcomers could be a good team.

Very much agree with what has been posted about this potential this line-up.

A couple of things here..

I havent seen this team play since the St Ambrose exhibition game. I know that MD Eastern Shore is a really bad team, but what I came away with today is that this BU team is starting to know their roles and I think that JL has developed player rotations that he is comfortable with. JL is also developing this team's skills...
Will Egolf is to this years team what Andrew Warren was to last years team. (talented freshman who is adjusting to college basketball and getting better with each game)
DC needs more minutes---the more game experience DC plays the better he will get...

"Warren made all seven of his free throw attempts, including three 3-pointers"

I guess you know you have a good game when your free-throws count for 3 points a piece.

Later in that sentence, it says Warren "made 8 of 9 free throws." So somehow AW made all seven FTs, but also made 8 of 9.

Bradley also shot "at least 56 percent from the field."

Yes, Warren for sure missed 1 free throw on one of the 4 point plays. 3 free throws on the three pointer foul and 2 free throws for a coach technical.

Jason

Grassman pointed out that IF Austin got into the game tonite AND that he shows JL he can play we will be elevenn deep. Thats good but as we all know that bench gets alot shorter when the real action starts.

That SHOULD cut down on the sloppy play but those newbies still have to clean it up for the brief periods they are in. One more game for them to "grow up" then the action starts and we have a smaller magin for error. We can get away with that sloppy stuff against these cupcakes but after tuesday it won't fly.

I liked a lot of what I saw today.

Couple things...

1) Surprised how many offensive rebounds MD-ES got on missed FT's... considering we had 4 players in the paint compared to their 2 (or 3 if you count their shooter) along with the added room given to the 1st spot on the blocks... but then again, they were so poor at shooting them, many came off further than typical ft's do

2) Knew something bad was coming with #31 (Popovic?). He and Salley were going back and forth after Salley got popped really good the first time. Then their was a play with some contact (and some jawing)... and I feared Salley was gonna get the flagrant call against him. Then a dead-ball... heading down the floor, Salley got right in 31's ear... (something was said - who knows what)... not long after, there was a time-out and I told my friend something is gonna happen coming up... but funny, Salley came out, Singh was out (and also may have also just come out)... and out of timeout from MD-ES's huddle and heading onto the floor, #31 was seemed to be looking for someone (and Salley obviously wasn't there)... MD-ES played offense, then went down on defense... then on a rebound by 31, Egolf got popped with the flagrant elbow from 31 - ejection.

Maniscalco will not run the team. There's a guy who signed a LOI who has much better credentials to be next year's point guard, Eddrin McCain . SM will take the place of JC at the 2 spot.
