BU women

I'm not interested in speculating in any respect, but just to show an anecdote here - I got a text from someone who really doesn't pay attention to Bradley at all but enjoys college basketball and were asking me if I had more information on what was going on. So, it's definitely caught the eye of people even outside of our close knit circle here. Hopefully it is being sorted out internally for all the people involved directly and indirectly in the program.

Yeah my wife asked me what she did and she is the furthest thing from a sports fan.

Kate is suspended for 10 games or about 33% of the season.

Bill Self was suspended 4 games for an FBI investigation into cheating and level 1 (the top) violations from the NCAA.

Jerrance Howard was suspended 2 weeks (3-4 games) for a then-criminal charge and covering it up.

Jim Harbaugh was just suspended 3 games for a cheating ring.

Penny Hardaway was suspended 3 games for recruiting violations.

Will Wade was suspended 10 games for paying players.

Dave Leitao was suspended at DePaul for 3 games for lack of control.

Juwan Howard punched another coach during the handshake line and got 5 games.

20 years ago today was the Malice at the Palace where Pacers players beat on fans in the stands - Ron Artest got 73 games, about 90% of the season. Stephen Jackson got 30 games or about 33% of the season. Jermaine O'Neal got 15 games or about 18% of the season.

Draymond Green, notorious piece of sh!t and multiple time offender just got 5 games (6% of his season) for putting a guy in a choke hold and dragging him around.

Plaxico Burress took a gun into a club and shot himself in the leg and got 4 games (25%)

Brian Kelly killed a kid at Notre Dame and didn't serve a single game.

Mark Few got a DUI and got a single game.

Grant Leonard at Queens University got 5 games for a DUI last year.

KU's baseball coach got suspended for 2 weeks for a DUI.

Latrell Spreewell choked out his coach and got 65 games.

Gilbert Arenas brought a gun into the locker room and got 50 games.

I'm having a hard time finding anything that resembles what we've seen here across NCAA or pro sports.

And you won't. It deserved a stern reprimand, but without revealing more, a 10 game suspension is excessive, IMO.

So mysterious. Makes you wonder what the allegations could consist OF. I have my guesses.

It wasn't anything criminal, sexual, abusive, or even remotely nefarious. Didn't choke anyone out like Bobby Knight did. Or throw a chair like Bobby Knight did. Or tell someone if rape is inevitable to just enjoy it like Bobby Knight did.

Our best player& possibly best player in the league was dismissed for a curfew violation
"Honey trapped".

We have a two tier justice system in this country now, and its no surprise the impact of that has trickled down to all facets of daily life, sports included.

Yep. Similar scared and bad decision making process. Making decisions out of a place of fear is ALWAYS going to result in a bad decision.

Everyone at BU above Brian Wardle failed Eli at that time.

Totally agree Jmm28.It sounds like da coach knows what the so called violation consists of.I was just wondering if this unfair sentence would cause Kate to just leave. After all,it's just her second year.

I don't see that happening. I have heard she signed either a 4 or 5 year contract when she was hired a year ago. And if she left on her own, she would become unemployed and would not get paid. Her husband would also almost certainly lose his job, too.
As bad as this situation seems, it will blow over, IMO.

Agree with you on the not resigning fault.

Disagree with you on the blow over part. I don’t think it’s going to just go away, unfortunately for BU in a trying time.

I hope I'm right. Remember the Wardle "scandal" at Green Bay that some said would stain BW's reputation forever.
And when Bradley refused to allow the PJ Star reporter into practices, and they threw a hissy fit and pulled every string to try to make it into a massive national scandal to embarrass Bradley out of spite.
There are career-killers like physical abuse, sexual scandals, and substance abuse (none of which apply here), but if a coach is successful like Wardle has been, most negative stuff fades away. I hope that is the case here with Coach Pop.

I would have liked to have seen Coach Pop get out in front of this with her own statement since the university refused to provide details, even a vague statement on her part. To me that would have been a better approach than allowing all of the public speculation.

I cannot see any way this doesn't kill recruiting.....sad situation by Bradley notvto address this openly and kill all the speculation and negativity. Hard to see how Coach overcomes this....:oops::oops:

The Bradley women just won their second game under Armelia Horton. They beat Elon in the first game of the Georgia State Classic in Atlanta.
Final score: 66 Elon 59- https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=496716
Kayla Nelson lead Bradley with 19 points. They play Bethune-Cookman tomorrow at 1:30 pm CT.

Is it possible that:
1) She's a better coach than Pop?
2) The team plays harder for her?
3) She replaces Pop as HC this year after suspension or after the season?

Lawyered up?
