Bulls trade forward James Johnson for 1st round draft pick

You hate a guy because he was forced to go to college rather then be able to go into the workforce and into a job his skills are most suited for? He would have never in a million years choosen to attend college if he was not forced to. It is not his fault the whole system is a complete farce.

If your going to hate, hate the system that required Rose to attend a college for a year.

Kevin Garnet a star? Umm he is a lot of things but today his game is not star quality, his mouth is star quality but at 15 and 9 those are not STAR number... he WAS a star he is nothing but a mouthy punk and at 34 yes he is a punk.

Ill take Boozer at his 19 and 9.9 along with Noah's 14 and 11 everyday over an over the hill guy like Garnet. Boozer and Noah are up and coming Garnet is well a has been.

He was not forced in anyway. He chose to go to school. He chose to cheat on his ACT's. He chose to not attend class.

This year you would take Boozer over Garnett? NOAH over KG??? No GM in the league would have that opinion.

Was listening to mully and handley on the score this morning and they were interviewing a guy from hoopsworld who was talking about a DOA offer of korver for mayo. This somehow gave me a crazy idea, since for some reason I'd not thought much about korver and or brewer leaving in trade... Its been rumored that andre igoudala has been available for awhile.. So send asik, korver or brewer, cj watson, the charlotte pick and a first rounder this year for igoudala. This would be a huge pickup for the bulls and give the sixers a talented young center, a roleplayer, and a good pick. It works from a salary standpoint (though I had to include watson for salary purposes).

If you give up korver you can still go get parker.... Though as much as I like brewer I think you try to send him instead of korver because he and iggy are sorta similar in style if not in talent. biggest problem is that trading watson leaves you with a need for backup pg. but if you can get a near all star sg for this team you do it.

You really think Iguodala and Korver are similar players? The Bulls need another shooter, and Iguodala is not a very good shooter. He's more of a slasher. His shooting percentages are not very good. Korver, otoh, set a record last season with the highest 3-point shooting percentage in NBA history, but the problem is he is just not athletic enough to guard other SGs.
IMO, Iguodala is a nice player, but he is not the type of player the Bulls need right now. His salary is over $12 million, too, more than twice what Korver makes, and impossible for the Bulls to fit under the salary cap.

I think he meant Iguodola and Brewer were similar...

Amckillip got it right, was saying brewer and igoudala are not dissimilar. Also trade works under cap. Bills are about 3M under, and brewer makes near 5, watson 3, and asik near 2. Build would have a tiny ain't of space under cap left post trade.

OK, got it. But IMO, Iggy is still not the type of player who the Bulls need, and his salary is way too high to make it work.

The salary is not too high...

I agree he's not an elite shooter... But he's a huge upgrade over any player on the roster or over any player the bulls have been connected to in rumors.

Really no GM in the NBA would take Boozer or Noah or Garnett? I HIGHLY doubt that but feel free to believe whatever you want. Put all 3 out on the open market right now and Garnett gets picked up last by every GM. Both are younger, more productive and flat out better then Garnett... today.

Why should an adult male who is 18 years of age be unable to go into his choosen profession? Rose would have immediately after high school choosen to go into the NBA but because of a biased rule he was UNABLE to go into his choosen profession.

His forced choice was to go to college. You are right he could have gone the route of Jennings. But not everyone wants to go overseas to make a living. He also could have gone to a pre school but again he would have been forced to do something that was going to keep him from working in his choosen profession.

His profession is playing basketball, he did not choose to go to any school and he did not or was not going to choose to go overseas. He was forced by todays rules to attend a college.

I did not say I would take Boozer going forward. My comment was about who is a star. KG is a hall of famer and at the moment a better player. Potential is important, but it does not determine who is a star. DSE has potential to be great. AW is Bradley's star.

As far as DRose, that arguement is a joke. He chose to go to school, and he chose to cheat. He may not have wanted to go overseas, but it was clearly an option. After I graduated I didn't want to move accross the country to work in manufacturing, I wanted to stay in the midwest and work in logistics. But I had to do what was neccesary. Now, I'm doing exactly what I wanted, I just took a a different route to get there than I anticipated. Just a DRose should have done when he couldn't get a passing score on the ACT.

I don't like the system, but it does not require players to cheat. Greg Oden knew he was going pro, knew he was the number one pick, moreso than anybody knew about Derrick Rose. He still took the SAT (what Indiana students take), got a passing score, went to school, went to classes, etc. Brandon Jennings didn't want/couldn't go to college so he went a different route.

I have ZERO sympathy for student athletes who cheat. It is beyond easy to qualify for American students, and those who don't did not put forth effort. Period. The ACT can be tough, but putting forth enough effort to get the minimum GPA is just that, a measure of effort. These kids get everything, they go to schools who are nearly diploma mills and focus on sports (like Simeon Academy), expecting and incoming student athlete to get a 2.0 GPA and a 19 ACT or a 2.5 GPA to go to school isn't unreasonable, its embarrassing that it is the minimum. If Rose went to ILSU people would be villifying him, because he's an MVP candidate for the local NBA team he didn't do anything wrong??? Gimme a break.

Looks like Mayo is heading to the Pacers. GarPax won't pull trigger with Asik or Gibson and picks for Lee. I think the rockets got Thabeet, so any deal is likely dead. Only think left would be picks for parker if that is still a possibility.

Bulls are going to get stuck with worthless late 1st round draft picks. ouch.
