BYU "Opponent Preview" Looks at Bradley

I do believe they won 52 games in a row there until last season. Had the top home streak or at least the top 5 at the time. Will be near impossible to win there but we'll see what happens. No one thought the Bears would beat Pittsburgh this past Sunday LOL.

Just wondering because I don't know, were these conference challenge matchup games seeded? Otherwise why would the Braves, and not CU or NIU, be playing such an overwhelming conference favorite? Would be a great win if the Braves could pull it off.

Because they aren't in the MVC. ;)

It appears that this could be a favorable matchup for BU since their best players are guards..... Our strength:)

I hope Les pressures their two guards all game since we have the luxury of guards and tweener forwards to run at them all game.

The problem is that some of the MVC & MWC schools already had series in place when the Challenge was announced. Those already scheduled series were then just made a part of the Challenge. For example, Creighton already had a home and home series scheduled with New Mexico. I'm pretty sure UNI and WSU already had similar series in place (although the exact opponents escape me right now).

Let's not worry about who we are playing in this series. I like that we are playing their best team! Some complain about playing bad team others about playing the best. Give me their best every time out. This should show us where we are at as a team pretty quickly. We will also have to use our bench extensively due to the altitude out in Provo.

For some reason I believe this is the way it should have been scheduled regardless.;-)

Agreed! You can never have a chance to beat the best teams if you never play them. I'd much rather be playing BYU than SIU-E!

I wasn't complaining because the Braves were playing BYU, was just wondering why our conference's predicted top team wasn't playing their favorite. As I said, it would be a great win if the guys can pull it off. Would be hard to play SIU-E in this conference challege don't you think?
JK. Getting back at ya.

No doubt this is a very tough 1st game on the road but if we play up to our capabilities it should be an interesting game. The trip to Brazil should have toughened up our guys so playing on the road should not be as big a deal as it would if we didn"t return so much experience.

I know it is on the road and in a historically hard place to play but it is their first game also. There should be no excuses going into this one and I'm sure JL will not give us one. What better motivation, as if these guys need one, then starting your season against a top notch team like BYU.

Another brazilian connection to Braves, since Jonathan Tavernari is brazilian and member of Brazilian NT that won the FIBA Americas title weeks ago. :D

And we should have the advantage over most teams early on since we've already played a pre-season.
