Chattanooga vs. Indiana

IlliBraves = Schadenfreude

Hey fellas haven't checked in here in a while. Got on a couple days ago to see what you were saying about Andrew this season and I thought I'd comment on this.

Gordon was incredible last night. I saw him play 9-10 times in high school including with a 100+ degree temp against Brebeuf in the county tourney my junior year (Gordon's sophomore year) where he brought them back from a 15 pt. second half deficit pretty much by himself. I wondered how his game would transfer to the college game and needless to say I'm impressed. Its hard to say how easy he will find it to drive past guys all year once you get into Big Ten play, but when you can shoot you can shoot and he certainly can do that.

As far as Stemler is concerned if he never played another minute for IU I would not be disappointed. He was awful. The guy just looks plain lost on the basketball court at all times. He had rebounds just fall into his lap and he would drop the ball and it would roll out of bounds or into a UTC player's hands. Once he got benched in the second half we were a completely different team.

That's because he's not a very good basketball player.

Wait a sec... what about all the rave reviews about Lance last year. I heard it every time Indiana was on TV. Those 'crackpipes' from the 'drive-by media' made it sound like he was an incredible addition to the team that will do so much for them.

Q's:
How do they get their info SO WRONG??? Why do people continue to listen to them? And then those listeners will spread their garbage around at watercoolers and watering holes as if it is the gospel.

A:
There must be a lot of stupid people out there.

For any who have not met Lance...he and his family are great people, so I hope this thread does not take a turn in the wrong direction.
I think he played his cards right and being a great juco player at the right time, with Sampson having a bunch of unfilled scholarships, led to a tremendous opportunity for Lance to play at IU, basically college basketball's biggest stage, and his team will be in the running not just for a Big Ten title this year but maybe even more come post season.

But Lance will play less and less as the season rolls along, just like he did last year. And he will not play a big part of whatever success IU has, but this is what he wanted so God bless him and good luck.

One last point.....Indiana won the game...but it was a draw for almost 3/4 of the contest with Tenn-Chattanooga leading at halftime 50-46!!! Seriously this is Tennessee-Chattanooga lighting up vaunted IU for half a century in the first 20 minutes!!
And they stayed within a couple points all the way until the final 10 minutes or so!!
Lance Stemler started and played quite a bit early then got yanked and didn't return (finished with ZERO points, ZERO rebounds, 3 FOULS in 16 min) as freshmen Eric Gordon and Jordan Crawford turned the game around and won it for the Hoosiers.
Let's see how long Lance keeps his starting job.

I hope Karma will eventually catch up with Gordon and Samspon, the biggest crook in college basketball, in the form of an early exit in the NCAA. If I haven't said it before, IU fans are also the most obnoxious people on earth.

Kentucky fans are the absolute worst fans I have ever met.

At least when it came to arrogance.

But - They were more knowledgable than any fans I know... more than the IU fans I knew and definitely more than the Illini fans know.

Could you be a little more bitter right now? Gordon hadn't done a single thing to bind him to going to Illinois. I can't wait to road trip out to Champaign for the IU-Illinois game.

It'll be fun for me. Not sure about you. EG and Kelvin better be prepared to dodge some blunt objects. So, because he didn't sign an LOI yet means it's ok to talk to another school's commits? OK, maybe not an NCAA violation, but your coach and school did something unconscionable.
