There's nothing preventing the Feds from going after Daley now. Nothing.
SFP, I have done my share of traveling as well, but I have a different perspective as for some reason, European people do not think that I am an American until I talk to them. For the most part I am mistaken for German, Dutch or as an Englishman. It's fun as I have Europeans approach me to ask for directions. The main comment that I ran into recently is that people say that they love Americans but did not like our previous President. When they discovered that we had a common belief (not in favor of W) then they really opened up to me. I have also witnessed that Europeans do not like the outwardly brash American traveler! (ugly American if you may) I have a classic story of how I got a window seat at the Jules Verne Restaurant in the Eiffel tower without a reservation as a result of an innocent comment that I made about some very brash tourists who didn't realize the impression that they were making.
I have a similar story. When I was overseas several years ago, in the 90's, I was told they like Americans but had lost respect for our President.
Wow.. When I was in England in the 90's, they liked Clinton a lot! Of course Clinton went to Oxford so that may have something to do with that.
Overseas covers a lot of ground, not just England. Most probably did respect the office for part of the 90's.
Here is something funny that came out of the efforts to land the 2016 Olympics in Chicago. In First Lady Michelle Obama's speech to the International Olympic Committee, she teared up and evoked memories of watching former stars win gold medals at previous Olympics-
“Some of my best memories are sitting on my dad’s lap, cheering on Olga and Nadia, Carl Lewis, and others for their brilliance and perfection.”
Well, though the entire mainstream media ignored it, but Michelle Obama was 20 years old when Carl Lewis made his first appearance in the 1984 Olympics, and Lewis did not win a gold medal until the 1988 Olympics when Michelle Obama was 24 years old.

Thank you for the geography lesson.;-) Most Europeans whom I have met tend to have favorable opinions of Clinton with little regard for most Republicans with the exception of Reagan.
Michelle Malkin.....Get real please, that lady is a nut case.
There's nothing preventing the Feds from going after Daley now. Nothing.
of course there is...they are too busy regulating what people say in their own private blogs!

poor little consumer needs protection....so consumers are so inept at deciding what they want to read or believe, that the feds have to step in and help?
nope-- just another tool to harass and control what people think and say, especially if it opposes the guys in power.
The federal government has no rights intruding on what individual citizens say on their private blogs or message boards. Do you believe they do?
I don't care much for Glen Beck, but why doesn't he have the right to free speech just the same as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Rachel Maddow, Bill Ayres, Van Jones, and Louis Farrakhan? Why do people feel so compelled to want to stop right-leaning people from saying what they want, but seem so demanding that others be allowed to say whatever they want?
What do these new FTC regulations have to do with these people and what they are saying?
It's about fraudulently promoting products....Get a grip people, nobody is going to take your away freedom of speech. I swear the right has gone nuts over the democrats running things, it's your own fault and it's not going to get any better for you guys acting like a bunch of babies that just had their candy taken away.....Are you one of these people screaming...I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK.
Murph, you don't see what the government is trying to do- they want to intrude on people's privacy. It's that simple, and it is wrong. Liberals used to stand strongly against such things.
Please stop trying to paint all people who disagree with you as raving lunatics, and babies. That is a time-worn technique that liberals never get tired of.
Guess it all depends on which ones you talk to, or say you talk to.
