Chudier Bile leaves Bradley

Greg Eboigbodin, the former Detroit commit who decommitted and then spent his freshman season at Illinois, then left, has committed now to Northeastern University.
http://verbalcommits.com/players/greg-eboigbodin

I may be reading your post wrong, but I don't believe Ebo ever committed to Detroit. My recollection was UIC and then when Chin left he went with to Illinois. He played HS ball for the University of Detroit Jesuit H.S. though.

Yes, the memory must be failing.... it was UIC he was committed to. He picked them over an offer from Detroit. Then he asked for and received his release and switched to Illinois.

just for the sake of discussion...here's a list of some players who have been mentioned on our board that are still available

-Gregory Eboigbodin - transfer from Illinois
-AJ Youngman - transfer from EKU
-Mustafa Lawrence - transfer from Missouri State
-Trey Knight III - transfer from Indiana State
-Johnnie Vassar - transfer from Northwestern
-Justin Roberts - former BU recruit, transfer from DePaul
-Justin Thomas - former BU recruit, transfer from NIU
-Kaelen Malone - transfer from Wichita State
-Austin Weiher - transfer from SIU
-Michael Tucker - former BU Recruit, could still have a year of eligibility left & don't see where he's signed anywhere
-Romon Douglas-Watkins - former Manual HS star, was at Southwestern Comm. College - not signed anywhere
-Mickey Pearson - former BU recruit that is transferring from Saint Louis
-and of course Chudier Bile is now available

and in case anyone interested...
Justin Roberts - one time BU recruit that transferred from DePaul, is headed to Georgia State
Johnnie Vassar, Northwestern transfer, is at Tennessee Tech
NIU's Justin Thomas to Morehead State
Wichita's Kaelen Malone to DII Newman

still have never seen where Knight, Weiher, Douglas-Watkins, Tucker, Daniel Soetan or Bile are headed...

we still have one open scholarship - unless it's been awarded to one of our walk-ons...
(it's been a month since the last tweet from Chudier Bile or the last mention of him anywhere..)

I kinda half-way had hoped we'd pick up a very late transfer or another 2019 kid who finished up early and could re-classify like Boya did...
Maybe we still might...

I was hoping the same. With our hard working coaches, I still have the hope.

Former Bradley recruit Mickey Pearson has decided to attend
Hargave Military Academy in Chatham, VA

a number of well known basketball players came from Hargrave...
from Coach Larry Brown, Terry Rozier, David West, Montrezl Harris, Marreese Speights, Joe Alexander, Armon Bassett and former Brave Jalen Crawford's brother Jordan Crawford.

So only a couple players that were previously on Bradley's recruiting radar are still to be accounted for...
and one of them is CHUDIER BILE...also Romon Dougas-Watkins, Charles Payton, Michael Tucker, plus former MVC players Trey Knight & Austin Weiher.

One time Bradley commit under Jim Molinari, Anthony Grundy, who reneged on his commitment to BU and eventually went on to a fine career at North Carolina State and even played briefly in the NBA, went to Hargrave Academy for a year after high school to be able to get out of his NLI when Bradley Coach Mo refused to release him.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Grundy

Bradley has recruited other players from Hargrave, but I do not believe they ever had a player who attended there.

kinda surprised that we are now a full month into the 2018-19 season and Chudier Bile has not "surfaced" on any roster of any team that I can find...

The Northwestern State announcement indicates he will play this year. I thought he had enrolled at Bradley over the summer-wouldn't that mean he is a transfer and has to sit out a year ?

he enrolled only for summer class - but for it to be a transfer from Bradley - he'd have to enroll full time for fall classes...then he'd have to sit out...
He will be eligible this year at Northwestern State

Reason Bile Left

Reason Bile Left

I think we had speculated that perhaps Bile transferred because he got wind of the work and discipline required to be a Bradley basketball player?

Is this right? Do we know anything more now about why he transferred so quickly? Maybe I missed something?

That has only been one speculation, and never confirmed. We will probably never know the real reason(s). Homesickness doesn't seem like a logical explanation now, since Natchitoches, Louisiana is farther from his home in Denver than Peoria is.

I am glad to see he landed somewhere that he will get a chance to play a significant role.

Northwestern State was one of the worst teams in the NCAA last season. They were just 2-23 against Division I opponents, and just 2-2 against non-D1 opponents (they lost to Division 3 LeTourneau University and lost to NAIA LSU-Shreveport University). They were 1-17 and dead last in the weak Southland Conference ranked 29th out of 32 D1 conferences), and only 1 of their top 4 scorers returns this season.
From their roster page, it appears they have at least 7 new players on their roster for 2018-19 (3 freshmen and 4 junior transfers)-

We had the news even before the people at Northwestern State did - here's an announcement
https://twitter.com/NSUDemonsFans/status/1047496271752257553

That tweet appears to be from a Northwestern State fan's twitter feed, and says:
Demons Men’s Hoop added Chudier Bile (@ChudiB_4) he’ll play this season. 6-7 Foward had originally signed with Bradley in July before landing in Natchitoches

Other than misspelling the word "forward", they claim he signed with Bradley in July. That is not true. He signed April 17, 2018. It was announced that he was leaving Bradley on July 9, 2018.

Bile is now listed on the Northwestern State roster page-
https://nsudemons.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=5208

using internet search devices & the Wayback, it is apparent that they just added Bile's name to the roster within the past week - with no announcement, or fanfare and no release.
The site linked (NSUDemons) is the first person or source to mention it in all of cyberspace or print media or references - EXCEPT my post from earlier this morning - so likely most Northwestern State Demons fans still do not know.

They averaged 1,180 fans per game last season (down from 1,455 in 2016-17). Apparently, most don't care.
