Cincy coach Mick Cronin

tornado

as we speak Cincinnati (7-2) is getting hammered by VCU 65-42

but the big news is that head coach of Cincinnati, Mick Cronin, 43 years old, is not at the game and is taking a leave of absence...

After getting checked out for symptoms of headaches, doctors found a cerebral aneurysm (a dilated and weakened artery) inside his brain..
Thankfully it had not ruptured.

He will need to rest & get more tests to make the proper medical decisions on treatment.

This has been all over the news here in Cincy obviously. Tough time here in Cincy sports with Devin Stills daughter, Lauren Hill from Mt St Joes battling cancer and now this. Cronin has a decent team this year and was coming off an upset win over San Diego St earlier this week.

I saw that game - Cronin really got worked up and was shouting a ton at one of the refs, Joe DeRosa - a long, long time college and NBA referee who
blew the whistle right at the final buzzer with Cincy ahead 57-55, awarding 2 FT to San Diego State's Winston Shepard -
which took an apparent win right away from Cincy and sent the game to OT. Cincy did win in OT so that probably calmed Cronin a little..

Yeah he was not happy at the end, with all that has come out now, he may be lucky as worked up as he was. I am sure you have seen the coverage of Lauren Hill and her battle with cancer, but I am not sure if you have seen this photo, this is her before her cancer

and this is the Lauren Hill everyone knows now

It is awful what cancer and the drugs used to treat/lessen it do to the body.

Sorry for hijacking this post with the Lauren Hill cancer issue but cancer is an issue that hits very close to home for me and this woman is a huge inspiration.
