Class of 2013 Stefan Zecevic

tornado

New member
Stefan is rather obscure but will reportedly be making a visit this weekend to Bradley along with Carter Evans...the only word of commitment to BU
is from a couple Euro web sites...
he is reportedly going to be at Lee Academy this season.

Here are some links on Zecevic... DOB 4/03/93 .. 6-5 (shot up from 6-2 at beginning of senior year)
He plkayed last season for a small Huntsvlle, AL high school - averaging 31.5 ppg & 9.4 rpg for the Asbury Rams

YouTube videos but they don't not appear to be functioning currently..it may be the browser in use

Here's a pic of his high school team in Alabama - I have no sure idea but based on the picture in the 3rd link - I think he's the player farthest on the left in the back row, #34
...as his appearance is quite sijmilar to the picture on tyhe USBasket site.

some amateur coach in Europe said this in a tweet a couple weeks ago...
http://twitter.com/DjordjeMatic/statuses/240827613273268224

so if this was a decision made to commit to BU two weeks ago - then puzzling why no actual confirmation from anyone...

Here's what appears to be Stefan's twitter....and indeed on August 29 he tweeted this....

"Stefan Zečević'93 bio na spisku reprezentacije do 19 godina će igrati za Univerzitet Bradley, Divizija 1. On je odbio ponudu Radničkog."

auto-translation -
"Stefan Zečević'93 was on the list to 19 teams will play for the University Bradley, 1st Division He declined the offer of the Workers."

http://twitter.com/Stef_mvp/status/240793425803345920

I then translated every tweet on that site back to May - and no other mention

Here's the amateur club team he played for

One of his former teammates was Nemanja Knezevic -- wonder if any relation

Sure hope he clears NCAA.......

His high school was classified as 2A in Alabama's 6 class system...
enrollment last year was 175...almost identical in size to Roanoke-Benson, Galva, or Okawville.....
http://www.ahsaa.com/Portals/0/pdf/other/2010-12 AHSAA Classification.pdf

Enrollment this coming season is up in the 188 range but Zecevic won't be there this season - he'll be at prep school

so.... to say he's anything other than obscure or under the radar is just silly - but I'm happy Geno found the kid because he appears capable of putting points on the board.
All I have found or read hints that there are no other schools currently involved - and he has no other offers or visits.

At one point last spring he got some interest from UAB but when he was given an offer...
oddly, he "REJECTED" the UAB offer!!!!

He is #34 in back row in this high school picture from last season...when he was a senior and now this season he'll be a post-grad student at Lee Prep in Maine

He looks good in video; let's hope he's not another Eddren McCain. This year should be the real measuring stick against good prep school competition.

It has been under the commitments forum for 2+ weeks.

Man! I went over there before that post and didn't see it DC. Now, I go look again and it's staring me right in the face... and the last post is MINE.:oops: I think I must be losing it. smh Basketball season can't come soon enough.

Sunday was a very widely promoted and well attended exhibition between a team of all the top players in Maine named "The Maine All Stars" and Lee Academy...
I finally found some reports on how the game went...it was reportedly a very good game and reasonably close 'til the end with Lee Academy winning 84-73...

Here is a list of scoring totals, but as noted, of the 14 players who played and 13 of them scored...
it is noted that Stefan Zecevic neither played nor scored - and no mention of why.
I still have a few inquiries out so maybe we can find out....

Here are the scoring totals along the left column:

Let's hope he's not injured....everything about this kid has been shrouded in mystery....from his non-recruitment to his lack of visibility since arriving in the States. Hope all is well.
