Class of 2016 Marquell Fraser

We will be fighting some big competition. It looks like Georgia Tech has also offered and there is interest from other large schools.

Does Peoria qualify as a large city?
 
But as we have seen with other kids, the fact that he says he received an offer from Georgia Tech does not always mean it is a full scholarship offer.

Former BU recruit Carson Williams just verballed to Western Kentucky, yet he supposedly had an offer from Oklahoma State.

Often when a mid-major caliber kid has one or two offers from a high-major, they could be conditional offers (conditional on them developing throughout their senior year and usually a way to keep a kid on hold to see if the school really wants him later), or they could be offers contingent on the kid doing a year of prep school, or they could involve walking-on for at least a year or two.

I may be wrong, and Marquell Fraser looks like a decent kid who could get a lot better, but I don't see him going to a school much higher than the MVC.
 
I can confirm that Marquell Fraser is on the Bradley campus for an official visit. It would be nice to get another commitment!
 
There are reports that he is impressed with Bradley and has Bradley high on his list- I too am hopeful we can get a commit...but he does have other visits planned so it'll be difficult
 
Now Marquell Fraser heads this coming weekend for a visit at James Madison -- hopefully we have impressed him enough that he'll see the difference right away!

There's not much news on Marquell Fraser after he wrapped up his trip to JMU.
Some recent discussion says he has four offers, Bradley, James Madison, then Iowa and DePaul.
But here's what I think -
First, only one of all the recruiting sites says there's been an Iowa offer - so just maybe it's not a full offer and this might explain why there seems to be little talk of Marquell checking out Iowa.

The Depaul has "offers" out to more than a dozen shooting guards - so like a lot of big schools with recruiting prowess higher than midmajor, they are likely just shot-gunning a bunch of "conditional" offers and leading guys on but will, in the end, only give a true offer to one or two of those guys, then move down the list if they don't get what they want.

So I share the feelings that the JMU folks seem to have that right now the only two visits Marquell has mentioned and the only two he appears to have even taken or planned are the BU & JMU visits....so I think we have a good shot.

Marquell Fraser's long time friend & backcourt mate just verballed TO Billy Wright and WIU!!!!

This might be very good news for Bradley since Marquell might truly enjoy playing ball right down the road and in such close proximity to his friend.

4-Star combo guard JaQuori McLaughlin is PREDICTED to be announcing today for Oregon State - his announcement comes at noon (Pacific Time).....
He is from Oregon and is predicted by their local media to be favoring Oregon State..and had even said as far back as his sophomore year in high school that he wanted to play for Oregon State.

He is a 6-4 combo guard so if he picks Oregon State, I'd have to think that would cause Marquell Fraser to possibly drop Oregon State from his list.
