Coach Les on Twitter

I would say it's probably a commentary on some of the laziness on defense and on the glass. I don't think you can pinpoint one guy or one position, because I saw guys who SHOULD be great perimeter defenders getting beat regularly, and guys who SHOULD be owning the glass getting outpositioned and outhustled underneath. That's what I saw Sunday, so that's my take.

I'm just asking..... you said the other day that this was preseason so why were some getting all worked up about some of the bad/poor play we saw.

Now you point out you saw the same things some of US noticed.....

I dunno...seems like JL saw what WE initially pointed out and has similar concerns.

Not calling you out just possibly not understanding your thoughts....

It's the 10th of November, I don't expect things to be anywhere close to perfect yet. The coach may not either, but he's being proactive instead of reactive and making sure it doesn't become an epidemic. If we're sitting here mid-January and this is happening, then there's cause for concern. I saw guys doing things in an exhibition game that I would expect.

Honestly sometimes a coach is hardest on his best players. I truely believe Brown is one of his best players. Just get the feeling that JL/staff saw something, especially on the D side and on the boards. I did not think TB played poorly but I only got to listen, seeing it in person and then on film is completely different.

Wasn't JL hard on another of his best players who eventually left the program to play closer to home....

Dog, I really dont think that situation would have ended much differently even if JL was not hard on Granger. It is very difficult to reel in a guy who is being courted by a guy who has left, Granger had a previous recruitment and relationship with and is calling and is speaking sweet nothings into Grangers ears. That situation likely would be handled much differently today but not all blame lies on JL on that one, plenty of blame to go around for everyone to share.

Often the most talented does not always mean the most focused, dedicated or have the most desire. Being tough on talent I think is important, if anything to make sure talent doesnt get to head high in the clouds.
