Coach Mo

I'm not but if I remember correctly the Valley was really horrible many of the years Slo Mo was competing for league titles.

Can somebody research that, I'm way to lazy to do it myself.

Hmm. Not so sure about that. We sent teams to the Sweet 16 and had multiple NCAA bids during his tenure.

WHAT? Come on BradleyBrave, you're slippin' man! Sweet 16 under Mo? ;)

EDIT: I think I misinterpreted your post BB. You meant The MVC sending teams to the NCAA and having a Sweet 16, not BU. Right?

I also think it's funny that a large number of Bradley fans thought UNI's inclusion into the Valley was a joke.

Yet, here they've gone to the NCAA 4 out of the last 6 years.

How does this become a thread about JL? I posted that I thought they showed the door to quick for Mo IMO, nothing more, noting less. He had some pretty good recruits in the stable and ready to go. Do I wish more for the program, yes and I believe Mo could have delivered. I also believe JL can deliver and am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, still. I can say though if next season turns out like this year I'll probably have a change of heart. The good thing about these two men are that they both have represented the university with class. Now if JL can start really winning consistantly he will be my coach at The Hilltop for life.

I guess maybe it's my fault, although I don't really think the thread became about JL at all. It was mostly about Mo, some people thinking he was let go too soon (which I find kind of interesting that this is coming out now), and about the MVC during Mo's time and now.

Couldn't any coach be the coach here 'for life' if they 'really started winning consistently' (which I assume means regular league titles and NCAA's)?

Yes! There are a few of us who are not satisfied with the current results but are a bit reluctant to pull the plug. If we were cellar dwellers then this conversation would be moot because every single one of us would be in lock step. The thing is that this season is not over and we can still do some damage. I believe we are one recruit from being special next year and it is not JW. If he comes in is as advertised he will give us something special but I still believe with the talent this team has and with an addition of a real 5 BU could be a top 20 team and add JW and the sky is the limit. JMO. But we need a real 5 to compete with the big boys regardless and I do not care where JL finds him.

Not to continue to steer the discussion further off course, SFP. . .

But at Bradley, what do you feel defines "cellar dweller"?

We all use the "Top 3" argument. . .but to me, 3rd place most years, should be the basement, not the ceiling.

Agreed. It should be where we're at when we're 'rebuilding' or 'reloading', not where we strive to be. We haven't been close to that in this regime, so we're searching for anything that might indicate progress.

Come on guys, B4L is somewhat right:razz: Isn't everyyear around here becoming a rebuilding year:razz: Hell, some on here have been talking wait till next year from about the 5th, 6th game this year:oops::roll:

If we stay and finish third this year will you be happy? This IS supposed to be a rebuilding year. Isn't it?

I got your sarcasm! I pretty know much know where you stand. I believe 75% of us are pretty close to what we believe in but it is usually how we voice it that separates us.

Coach Mo and WIU won again last night...
they are now 11-14, and are now just one win from their best win total since 1998-1999.

With the win at Centenary (the 00 Chief, Robert Parish's school) WIU posts 3 conference road wins in a row.

The PJStar headline was misleading, but still three road wins in a row (in between IUPUI came to Macomb and left with a W) is substantial. One of those was to a team with a RPI of under 150 (ORU).
