Coaching candidates

Da Coach

I have heard several names from inside sources. Most here know some of them.

But lets start posting ideas who would make a good coach.

I'll start-

Jerrance Howard

There are other names that I may add later.

IMO, we should let the new AD make that decision, without help from message boards. I'm sure, beings he comes from larger programs, he already has a list of candidates.

Chico - we'd still have the old Prez & old AD if it were not for the message boards and fans...
I think maybe they are doing a good job

What Bradley fans have just witnessed over the past few weeks is unprecedented. I doubt we could find another D1 school that fired their President, AD, and head coach all within a few weeks.
Does everyone think this is just some bizarre coincidence?
I think we all know that it is not. This is all part of a complex, and comprehensive plan to rebuild the Bradley administration and athletic department.
Is it just a fluke that all 3 of these firings were predicted right here? Even the hiring of Chris Reynolds was predicted. And it is a good bet that the next head coach is also someone who was part of this plan.

Though I think part of the fun of being a fan is to speculate on who the next coach should be and to "help" your team make the selection, do you seriously believe that message boards played any role in changing the President and AD?

I think that the metrics themselves (wins/losses, eroding fan support, lower entrance classes, decreasing revenues, budget overruns) would have lead to a change regardless of what went on on fan message boards.

I'm not as concerned about the past as the future. We have been terrible and suffered financially for it.

I just hope that the future brings us improvement over the past.

I hope you're not suggesting that we don't discuss possible coaching candidates. This is a fan message board, after all, and discussing all things BU should be open here. This is just the water cooler of the internet for BU fans to gather around.

I think you will find that names have been discussed elsewhere for many days. I don't think Reynolds is going to base his hire on either board.

Yes. If we get to a point where there aren't enough interested fans to speculate and discuss, this program is sunk.

Da Coach...I have the utmost respect for your opinions, however I must respectfuly disagree with your listing of Jerrance Howard as a BU coach. Regardless of your arguments as to why he has not been selected as a coach before, I for one believe the successful Coach's know something that we don't about his qualifications or lack of. He would have been offered something by now if he were that highly thought of. I have real reservations about his character as well. At a point in time he obviously disrespected the law and the rules. Do you really believe that is a temporary condition? Not a chance. Most importantly he has zero experience as a head coach. At this point do we really need someone with zero experience to help us with the severe problems that we currently have at this time. Personally, I feel uneasy with this choice. Remember this thread if jh is selected.

Please, no. We can do without ethically and legally questionable candidates for the job. There are many more options.

Charges were dropped. Aside from that fact, everyone makes mistakes. Show me the man with no sins, and I'll show you a liar. It's not like Howard has a long sordid criminal history and record. Amazing to me how quickly folks are to crucify this guy over a misdemeanor charge that was dropped.

Let him without sin throw the first stone. Someone famous said that once.

Robert Smith

The Simeon coach? We know he can coach d1 caliber athletes that's for sure. If we were in the place that les left us in I would be open to him but imo we need someone with proven recruiting skills to get us out of this hole. Howard (my favorite candidate) is a well respected recruiter and has apprenticed under good coaches, with self being a top 5 coach in college basketball.

Still, "No." ;-)

I agree with you here and I think if someone thinks he is qualified, JH will get a shot??¦.but now isn't the time.
