Wagner fired their coach Mike Deane-

Mike Deane's bio-
http://www.wagnerathletics.com/coaches.aspx?rc=52

Mike Deane previously coached at Marquette and Siena.
I recall him as the coach at Siena when I travelled to New York to watch Bradley play Siena in the third round of the 1994 NIT. Because Siena's home arena in Albany was booked for a concert that night, the game was played in a smaller hockey arena in Glen's Falls, New York. Siena beat Bradley 75-62.

Tom Crean has relieved former Duke star Roshown McLeod of his duties at Indiana. McLeod won't even accompany the team to the Big 10 Tournament.

McLeod was hired because of his recruiting and AAU connections in New Jersey and Atlanta, and was expected to help Crean Land some big-time recruits. However, he never delivered the top quality recruits. I am sure he'll be replaced by another assistant with connections to highly rated recruits.

wow- indeed McLeod was brough in specifically to help them land kids like Kyrie Irving, David Williams, and Josh Selby....and he did help bring in Victor Oladipo....but I see this as a preemptive move by Tom Crean to label McLeod as the scapegoat for everything wrong at Indiana.
If you look closely, read the local press, and check their message boards, there is a growing discontent brewing...
Indiana fans wanted and expected a little bit better by now, and Tom Crean has not yet brought in any blue-chippers...
In fact, most of the players he has landed are mid-major caliber kids and the schools he's beating out for them are like Bradley (for Matt Roth), George Washington (for Will Sheehey), George Mason, VCU, and SMU (for Victor Oladipo), and a few jucos for Bawa Muniru and they DID get beat out by both UNLV and Valparaiso for Beas Hamga!

This move allows Crean to blame his underlings for his own failures....and it isn't likely to fool too many of the Indiana fans....who are growing restless that the team loses so much and plays more like Indiana State than Indiana.

So if BU makes some moves with their assistants, does that mean Les is scapegoating them for everything that's going wrong at BU?

I doubt anyone would read that into the equation if Les replaced one or to low-level assistants (Crouch, Vogt) with an experienced top assistant. The real problem, however, would be in changing or re-establishing the current coaching hierarchy of Les, Bish, and Brooks.

I think a likely scenario might be Brooks leaving to be "closer to home" (at least that would be the public reason for his leaving) and BU replacing him with someone of Cross'/Glasser's suggestion. Unless Little Bish gets an offer like Forrester there is no way he goes anywhere or loses his #2 spot under Les.

The season isn't over yet, and another coach has decided to fire a couple of his assistants.
Kevin O'Neill at USC has decided to let 2 of his assistants go-Gib Arnold and Phil Johnson-

When O'Neill replaced Tim Floyd at USC, the three assistants under Floyd were retained by O'Neill. One of the 3, Bob Cantu, will be retained.

USC coach Kevin O'Neill just fired two assistants..so he will likely bring in a couple guys with big names and strong AAU connections...
