If Schertz gets a bigger job, it truly is impressive BW has been here as long as he has.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m certain he’s passed up opportunities we don’t know about. Also, there’s something to say about having kids that are happy and successful in their educational and athletic environments. The Wardle clan has shown this to be true. Maybe Mrs Wardle is happy here too. Remember, happy wife, happy life. He is well paid, in a competitive conference, and is challenging every year. I think those factors keep him motivated and content with where he is. Plus he’s an Illinois guy. Bradley is a Top 3-5 Div 1 coaching job in Illinois.

Illinois, Northwestern, and Loyola are the only ones that would be considered better, and if given the opportunity, I think we could beat them all on occasion.

Plus his kids are doing well in school here what with winning state Championships. There is a lot or reasoning to not wanting to yank them from all that.

I'm not sure this one was posted- Mike Boynton was fired by Oklahoma State after 7 seasons - https://www.cbssports.com/college-b...ach-made-just-one-ncaa-tournament-appearance/

Sounds like Barry Hinson's job is at risk. He is on Mike Boynton's staff at Oklahoma State- https://okstate.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/barry-hinson/1803

Btw, here is an article listing potential candidates for the Oklahoma State job, and the first one is Darian DeVries.
Josh Schertz also listed - https://www.si.com/college/2024/03/...tball-candidates-after-mike-boytons-departure

The more I think about the Devries situation. I bet he is very selective which job he takes while his son is in school because he probably wants to get back to the tournament next year. So he won't want to take a job that doesn't put him in position to do so. I think OK ST would only be a good fit if they have a strong NIL program.

Long Beach State's Dan Monson has been fired effective the end of the season after 17 seasons. LBSU is in the Big West tourney championship game. Imagine going dancing with a fired coach.
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-b...state-eyes-ncaa-tourney-berth-coach-dismissal

Long Beach State has won 20 games this season (20-14), and as you noted, they are playing for the championship of the Big West Conference tonight and a bid to the NCAA Tournament. So this seems strange. Long Beach State did not refer to it as a firing. Their wording is:
"Beach Athletics And Men‘s Basketball Head Coach Dan Monson Mutually Agree To Separation" - https://longbeachstate.com/news/202...coach-dan-monson-mutually-agree-to-separation

The rumors are that he was pushed out, but probably received a nice buyout, thus they use the terms "mutually agree to separate".
He has been at LBSU for 17 seasons and has had some success. They won the Big West regular season 2 years ago. But they have never made it to the NCAA Tournament under Monson. - https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/long-beach-state/men/
But there are people who still remember the success they had under Jerry Tarkanian in the early 1970's and think the program can return to that level.
Monson is just 62 years old, so it isn't likely he is planning on retiring.

Long Beach State will play Jim Les' UC Davis team tonight for the championship of the Big West and an automatic bid to the NCAA.

Incidentally, here is an article from the Davis, California newspaper that has some nice things to say about Coach Les:
"Aren't we lucky to have... Les?" - https://www.davisenterprise.com/tow...cle_fe74dbac-e272-11ee-b6f4-ef129661817c.html

Houston Christian of the Southland Conference has hired a highly successful Division II coach, Craig Doty - https://hoopdirt.com/2024-college-basketball-coaching-changes-tracker/

Doty won two NJCAA National championships at Rock Valley College, a junior college in Rockford, Illinois., and he's had success at the NAIA, too.
Most recently, he has been at D2 Emporia State in Kansas, and won 23 games this season and played in the D2 NCAA Tournament.

Here are the latest changes in 2024 coaching positions- https://hoopdirt.com/2024-college-basketball-coaching-changes-tracker/

Jeff Borzello has very reliable sources, so the question is, will he take the job?
He has virtually every key player returning next year, except 6th man Xavier Bledson
