ISU has an interesting history with their coaching hires...

in 2018 ISU signed Dan Muller to an extension thru 2024 after a couple good seasons, then fired him in Feb of 2022.

ISU signed Porter Moser to a contract through 2010, then just as Moser landed a whole stable of top quality guys who would go on to
win 22, 24 & 25 games the next 3 seasons (Osiris Eldridge, Anthony Slack, Dom Johnson, Dinma Odiakosa) then suddenly ISU
fired him in 2007, and he went on to a highly successful career elsewhere.

In 2012 ISU gave Tim Jankovich a modest raise and extended him, then, SIX DAYS LATER he snubbed them and left for an assistant spot at SMU.

here's an interesting development at Boston College...
after BC fired the whole coaching staff (Jim Molinari included) they hired UConn assistant Luke Murray

Now Luke Murray has demanded that Boston College fire their entire long-time radio broadcast team because
he doesn't want anyone who might be associated with the old staff.
"He’s a young head coach, no experience, and he’s being given the power to take two guys’ careers away from them
who have done nothing but try to serve the program and promote the program."

Murray considered the broadcasters part of the team's "losing mentality” ...

Texas Southern elevated a nine-year assistant coach, Shyrone Chatman, to interim coach in April, to succeed Johnny Jones who became an assistant at LSU, then hired a search firm in June to find a coach. Took two months to find this one, four months since elevating the assistant. Such a late hire, one has to wonder why they simply didn't make this coach the head coach. There must be a reason, but I don't know what the story is. No mention on their website that Chatman left. He was recruiting players.

Texas Southern has been pretty successful in the SWAC. They have seven NCAA Tourney appearances since 2014 & their last two head coaches were hired away to better jobs.
Nobody seems to know why this current search & hire took so long but the guy they are getting seems to be a solid hire.

On the eve of the debut of their new football coach, UCLA fires their AD with over $6 million left on his contract that they will have to pay.
The criticisms are that he oversaw the firing of two bad FB coaches needing big buyouts, secretly extended the basketball coach without
consulting the Chancellor, and recently inquired "secretly" about the USC AD job...
also- per report- "he was an inconsistent fundraiser, was slow to react to changes in the college sports competitive landscape, was far too conservative with respect to NIL, largely did not build goodwill with his coaches or athletic department staffers, and hopelessly mismanaged his most important program in football." **
But the reason given publicly is that the Athletic Department finances are a mess.
"UCLA Athletics currently carries a significant financial deficit, and its current path is not sustainable"
