Highlights include
Andrew Davis and Sean Harris... Harris has asked for release, a mutual thing with Coach Ford not being able to see him play and Harris not having a relationship with Coach Ford. Davis has not participated in any Spring workouts and is most likely gone.
Remy Abell is still thinking about Bradley and Coach Ford will be meeting with him and his family next week and make one last pitch for BU!
Something else very interesting to me is 6'2" Guard Jalen Crawford. Younger brother of Jordan Crawford who now plays for the Washington Wizards. He is all the kid that dunked on Lebron and NIKE tried to hide the tapes. Jalen just took an official visit to BU and currently holds offers from Xavier, TCU, Providence and others..

Wow, for the first time in ages, the pjstar actually had an article on BU containing NEW information. My thoughts:
-Andrew Davis is a nice kid...smart and thoughtful. That said, every bit of information I ever received about him indicated he was a much bigger project than we anticipated. Hopefully he can land at a JUCO where a coach can continue to work with him and maybe develop him to the point where he would be worth re-recruiting.
-I am indifferent on Harris. 2 years away from basketball is significant. I know 2 people who have been on Mormon missions and they insist there isn't time to play basketball for more than an hour a week...if that. You simply cannot maintain basketball skills and it is probably best for Sean to re-develop his skills at Yuba for another year
-Many BU insiders have thought Remy was a lost cause, so it is AWESOME to hear we have a shot at him still. Keeping my fingers crossed...
-I know I am not the only poster on BF who has heard about one other potential roster spot which may open up...will post more if I hear anything definite. Nothing to lose sleep over...
-Jalen Crawford? His siblings were both good college players, but I can't seem to find much info on him. He isn't listed on Scout or Rivals which is a bit of a red flag...but if he has offers from Providence and Xavier, I tend to believe he is a player.

This all sounds great to me! No surprises so far...hope we get Remy...especially happy we got Nate Wells, hope he can provide help with rebounding and shot blocking we need. The new name, Jalen Crawford, sounds interesting...keep up the good work Geno and keep the information coming

Who are some other college players who came from Impact Academy in Las Vegas?
The Impact web site lists some of their "alumni" but obviously we must be talking a different language here since they list John Wall, Craig Brackins, Sherron Collins, Jarvus Varnado, Dwight Howard, and even DANNY GRANGER!!!!etc.....and not one of them ever went to high school in Las Vegas -- so they must be noting players who might have possibly just been to one of their camps.

I found one project 7-3 kid who went to Rhode Island...was academically ineligible for 1st semester -- then played in 5 late games, made just one basket -- many saying he a complete and total project..:roll:

Strictly basketball-wise, I think that Nate Wells for AD is better for BU in the long run. Yes, NW is a bit of a project, but in the coming years, I think we'll see good things from Nate! And deep inside, if it came down to either Harris or Wells, I was hoping Wells would honor his commitment. So I'm happy!
If RA comes to BU, WoW!! - we are in for a treat, and I don't see why we wouldn't be a top-half Valley team THIS season! Without him, I was thinking 5 or 6 (we have 2 of the league's top 10 players after all if TB is healthy & cleared) Remy & DS are freshman that can make an immediate impact - not necessarily starters, but would give us good production & depth.
I will have to check out this new kid on the radar that Geno is after from Detroit.
Overall, great news all around. Harris not coming doesn't disappoint me. We will be alright without him. (don't mean to sound bitter toward the kid - hope he succeeds wherever he goes in life & on the court!)

The Impact Basketball Academy, run out of the Tarkanian Basketball Academy on Rancho Drive near Sahara Avenue, offers a yearlong post-graduate basketball training program designed to help borderline players improve their game to Division I levels without losing a year of eligibility.
Silverado graduate Jimmy McMurrin was in contact with Cypress Junior College in Southern California when he decided the program would be a better option to help him achieve his dream of playing for a Division I school.
"I was working out at the center to get in shape before I left for Cypress," McMurrin said. "I learned about the program and thought it presented me with a better opportunity to get where I want to go. The biggest thing for me was I could spend the whole year working on basketball and not lose any of my eligibility."
A shooting guard in high school, McMurrin said the academy has helped him become stronger, faster and more intelligent about the game. He said they have also helped him learn about proper nutrition for an athlete at his level and ways to train specifically for basketball.
The program, which operates under the same methods used by Joe Abunassar, trainer for NBA stars like Kevin Garnett and Chauncey Billups, is overseen by program director Tony Tucker.
Since Sept. 1, Tucker ??” along with coach Andrew Moore, assistant coach Abe Woldeslassie and strength and conditioning coach Dave Stagnitta ??” has been putting post-graduates from Las Vegas, California, Texas, Oregon, the Netherlands and the Bahamas through the paces on the court.
With a goal of 10 athletes for the inaugural class, the Academy attracted 18 and Tucker said he expects continued growth for the program.
"We've got a very diverse group because I think there's a huge market for this type of thing," Tucker said. "We want to establish ourselves as a solid option for those kids who are still looking for a scholarship offer."
In addition to McMurrin, the academy has attracted locals like Spring Valley graduate Jason Walter and Bishop Gorman graduate Jordan Hill.
A sometimes center for the Gaels, Hill has been working to become more of a traditional guard to make himself more attractive to Division I schools.
"I feel like I've improved so much already," Hill said. "The type of training I'm getting is unbelievable. When I couldn't get into a D-I school I was pretty down on myself but working here, my confidence has gone up and that's helped me keep working hard."
The program, which runs from Sept. 1 to April 1 costs $15,000 with limited scholarship opportunities or $18,000 for out-of-state athletes who need boarding.

Nice highlight montage. The competition didn't seem too great.
He seems to be a good ball-handler and crafty. Another PG wouldn't be bad for us to have.

That was a good thought that came true...everything that has happened since the season ended has caused me to be very optimistic for this coming season and we've even got a good preseason schedule working. Looking forward to watching the players respond to a new improved game plan and how the new players fit in. And from what I've recently read there is going to be a new openness with the press, the more information the better for us fans. Go Braves

You touched on it, but I really believe one of the things that killed us last year, and in years past was our lack of depth. Yes, I know the injuries were there, but we had numbers, just not the quality we needed. The deeper we are with quality players, the better this season will go.
Like you said, RA and DS (especially DS) may not necessarily be starters, but provide good production and depth to prepare them to emerge as sophs and beyond.
