Dan Muller fired- steps down immediately

Or when Bradley fired Jim Les.

Can't even compare Les and Muller.

Muller was not a good head coach - loved him as a player. Underachieved as a head coach in most of his seasons at the helm. The program has gone wayyyyy down since he took over and not even a threat in the top half of the league in the past 4 or 5 seasons.
Very surprised he wasn't canned a couple seasons ago after they only won like 10 games.

As much as most Braves fans on this board hate ISU-red with a passion, I do like to see them do well unless we play them h2h.
And it would be nice to see them return to a middle-pack team at least, as long as the Braves continue to do well.

Getting rid of Muller is a step in the right direction.

The I-74 rivalry has been lacking some in recent seasons.

The comparison was not between the two as coaches, but of iconic, former, players being fired.

Correct.

Incorrect. ;)

LOL Tommy - sorry, we all come from different walks of life, bud.

I went to IL Wesleyan - right next to Normal, went to church in Normal with mostly ISU students, and had/have many friends that went to ISU.
My 2 best friends graduated from ISU and both my parents got their Masters from ISU.
My Dad is a longtime Redbird (and Illini) fan, so I did follow (and like) ISU growing up.

On all accounts, I should probably have chosen ISU as my hoops team! I didn't even go to Bradley, but fell in love with their team in the early 90's with Coach Mo and the boys and can say I avidly follow the Braves in the last 20 yrs more than any other team (pro/college).

I will say that I don't like the Birds as much as I did in the mid to late 90s, and I've come to know that their fans can be...not so classy
Really liked those teams with Trotter, Muller, Rico, and as late as L.D. Murdock.

Above all, I am a HUGE Valley fan, as some of you are, and root for all MVC teams when they don't play BU.
But...like ALL of you, I HATE when we lose to ISU-Red!

haha, you know I just like bustin' your balls, LB! I actually attended ISU and still hate them!

Interesting commentary in the last few posts. As my user name suggests, I have very strong ties to both schools. I cheer for and want both to do well. I have a couple degrees from ISU and even played pickup against Doug Collins when he went to school there. Some of my family members have degrees from BU. Additionally, I have had season tickets for BU the last few years. When ISU and Bradley play each other, I enjoy the game and don’t get too emotional whatever the outcome is. I certainly understand the emotions that come into play from both fan bases, especially those that attended either university, or just happen to cheer for one of the two schools without having gone to either university. It’s good fun!! Regarding the crowds, I have personally witnessed crude behavior from fans of both schools. Rude crowd behavior is not indigenous to one school or another. Again, emotions run high in this rivalry!!
I hope it is a great game to watch, but I believe the Braves will win by 13 or so…
Everyone have a good time whether you attend the game or watch it!!

I have as well, and in all large groups of people unfortunately there will always be a percentage of those who lack respect and self control. However that percentage will be higher in some groups than others.

I had an extremely bad experience in a local arena with my mom and dad growing up… to the point they have never returned.

That being said, how some fans behave is not the responsibility of the good fans around them in the same fan base. It just is what it is.

Some interesting names. The ISU fans I know seem to favor Roger Powell. He has no experience as a head coach, but has a reputation as a good recruiter. The others on that list all have had success as assistants or as head coaches elsewhere. Some might already be getting paid close to what ISU can offer.

Names mentioned in case fans encounter a paywall-
Roger Powell- current assistant at Gonzaga
Steve Prohm- former head coach at Iowa State
Scott Nagy- current head coach at Wright State, and previously at South Dakota State
Dennis Gates- current head coach at Cleveland State (1st place in Horizon League)
Ryan Pedon- assistant at Ohio State, former assistant at Butler
Saddi Washington- assistant at Michigan
Dean Oliver- assistant coach at Wisconsin
Brad Korn- head coach at Southeast Missouri State, former player and assistant at SIU
Kyle Green- assistant coach at Iowa State, formerly assistant at UNI- father of AJ Green
Eric Henderson- current head coach at South Dakota State- they are 27-4 this season and just clinched the Summit League

Wasn't Scott Nagy mentioned for the Bradley job at one time before they got Wardle?

I remember seeing his name mentioned in the media and here on the fan forum. Here was an article by Dave Reynolds mentioning Nagy as a potential candidate-
https://www.pjstar.com/story/sports...-potential-candidates-to-replace/34933192007/

And in a PJ Star article that is no longer is available online, it was apparently reported that Nagy interviewed for the Bradley job-
