I think this rumor might have some legs. Altman was very close to going to Illinois three years ago but backed out because the athletic department nixed his plan to bring all his Creighton assistants with him to Champaign. If Iowa doesn't have a hangup about such a condition (provided Dana insists on it again), I could see this happening. Many Valley watchers are amazed that he's chosen to stay in Omaha all these years. Just like Mark Few, I think Altman knows a good thing when he sees it. It wouldn't hurt for him to listen to an offer from Iowa City or anywhere else that may be interested in him either. In the end, nothing would surprise me about his situation in the post season. He has been a boon for the MVC, and until Bob Huggins got to K-State, you have to figure it galled many Wildcat fans to see the success he's had at Creighton after he left Manhattan.
