Coach D'Antoni was asked a question about Bradley and Jim Les, it's near the end of this clip.

I can't either, how bout just telling us what was said......PLEASE

He just downplays it, saying that there were a lot of coaches that came in, that Jim is a good guy and a good coach and that Les and Marc Ivaroni and Jim were teammates in the league and that's what fostered teh relationship.

I am over 15 minutes into the clip (it's a 35 minute video) and Mike D'Antoni hasn't come on yet. It's an archived streaming video of the Phoenix Suns coach's show called Nothin' But Net with Mike D'Antoni. They have interviewed the newspaper beat writer and talked about the team and players. The hosts think Leandro Barbosa deserves 6th Man of the Year, and they think Steve Nash deserves his 3rd MVP. They discussed the NBA playoff situation, plus a lot of small talk about the Suns and their chances to win it all this year and who has the best media food setup on the road.

Finally, Coach D'Antoni comes on the show 18 minutes into the video clip....
They talk about their recent and upcoming games, and the Suns' chances of beating out the Spurs for the #2 playoff spot in the Western Conference of the NBA.
Then they talk about player issues. Now I'm 24 minutes into the clip.
Still no mention of Jim Les.
More small talk about unrealistic expectations of fans.
Now they are reading fan mail and answering questions about the players.
A question about the Suns 3 first round draft picks. D'Antoni refuses to comment so that he doesn't get fined by the NBA.
Now the host asks D'Antoni to explain the NBA rule about commenting on college players. What a dope.
Next question (28.5 minutes into the clip) is by a senior from Bradley University named Bill. He asks about Jim Les meeting with Mike D'Antoni last summer. The coach talks about why they met and that he meets with people he knows and likes to talk basketball. He say he knows Jim Les well, and considers him a great coach. He says mentions other people that they both know. Then the coach says goodbye and leaves and the hosts go back to their commercials and meaningless small talk.

There it is. It is definitely not worth waiting 28+ minutes of garbage to get to. Gotta go back to work.

I just heard him answer a question about why Jim Les would have been there. I never hard anything downplayed.

DC . . . wasn't quoting you . . . responding to earlier post. Was there some kind of rumor?

Coach, sorry didn't mean to waste your time, but I specifically said that it was near the end of the clip. I just moved the dial towards the end and heard it. Maybe I got lucky about where I landed but the whole process took me about 2 minutes.

As for the downplaying, I meant that he downplayed the notion that he advised Jim.

Yes, I see that now. But I just let it run in the background while I did some other stuff during lunch, so no time wasted.

It does seem odd that they used that question, when they only pick 2 or 3 letters/emails to ask the coach. Most people who would watch that show wouldn't have any idea who Jim Les was.

Well, the dirty little secret is that the "Senior from Bradley" is me and I was a Sr. 25 years ago. My brother works in Publicity for the Phoenix Suns and they were trying to throw some questions together last minute... :-P
