Dave Reynolds- 7/30/10

I knew there was something about you I liked! I also got my degree from Bradley in Chemistry. However, I didn't try to play D1 sports at the same time.

That is awesome. I don't know how old you are....but there some pretty old profs. who we might both know.

The new labs are awesome (on the organic side because Dr. Field is organic)

I am deciding between physical and analytical for grad school.

Yeah Ned was in my 2nd Organic class and he owned. He is smart and works real hard.

I'm content with recruiting talent good enough to compete consistently (not every 1-2 decades) for MVC championships and NCAA bids. I don't care if we never have another NBA player again.

Our talent has been very good, we could have won championships the last 3 seasons if we had a good center and not a small forward (Salley, Egolf) trying to play center against true centers.

I agree with most of your point but..... I would not call Egolf or Salley small forwards. In the MVC they are TRUE power forwards.

On a different note Will Egolf's twitter feed says:

"I am the biggest and strongest I have ever been in my life, thank you ronnie wright"

I'm looking forward to seeing the big man in action. Also, several players have tweeted to watch out for AT and have commented that he is fit and looking good in practice. :)

Do you disagree?

Oh and I should clarify my last post was in regards to AT...I didn't get too good of a look at WE. I was working out when the basketball team had a meeting in the "dance" room with all the mirrors..they all came out and had a light practice using up all of the 3 courts...I got a pretty good look at AT walking at me going down the stairs. Wilson, Collins, Crouch (obviously) were there too it was neat to see them practicing with the team.

How did AT look compared to the 240-250 lb. Collins?

Well there wasn't much of a staggering difference in height obviously, but with regards to being ripped out of his mind like collins appeared to be, he looked like he could get pushed around fairly easily by collins..if I didn't know anything about collins :)

Let's put it this way last season AT did in fact look bigger than his previous years here at Bradley. Definitely over 200 lbs. He looked about the same as he did last season, most definitely did not get any smaller, but if he did get bigger I'd say it was no more then 5 to 10 pounds (it would be of muscle because he doesn't look fat or have a gut or anything). The guy just needs to work on his legs. His arms are fine..they looked toned as they did last season, and the long lanky arms can do fine in DI. His legs are his base though and having strong legs are going to do wonders for him getting position on other centers, jumping higher, and gaining weight. I think everyone knows the best way to gain serious weight and in the quickest time is to focus on your legs. He really needs to improve that aspect...from what I saw....he still had a bit of the chicken leg syndrom going on. His forearms looked bigger though (that's right I got THAT good of a look at him haha).

Also with regards to WE. I didn't see him as well as AT but don't get your hopes up too high. He looked good, and did actually look a little bit bigger, but he wasn't like huge or anything. He knows his body best though and I'm sure he's in the best shape he's ever been...but if you are expecting a WE mind and skill in a Collins-sized body then you will be disappointed.

I would trade some size/bulk for intensity, loooong arms, coordination, quickness and jumping ability in my center position.

BU has had some taller, big bodies in the post before who couldn't move or jump...they were the 'shortest' big men in the NCAA re defensive intimidation and rebounding..

Will know what we have in a couple of months! I feel like a Cub fan in February!

I agree in that size only matters if you are willing to rip somebody"s head off to get a rebound , aggressive players are what we need period.

I was just laughing trying to imagine the tone in which you typed that. like yeah i have no opinion because i have seen AT once this summer.
