Dave Reynolds blogs about watching a team workout this morning

Dave has some nice things to report after getting up early for this morning's workout-
>All looked to be in great condition
>The recovering wounded, Andrew Warren and Will Egolf, moved well through the drills
>other than Egolf’s knee brace, showed no signs of limitation
>Les reported that the Tuesday strength test results of Egolf’s surgically repaired knee were “off the charts.”
>Prosser and Simms-Edwards...both seem to be assimilating well to the college game
>Eastman is a big guard with a nice shot
>Knezevic is a different story. During a brief four-on-four session, the Las Vegas native put on an electric performance with his shooting and passing abilities
>Knezevic, at first blush, looks like a guy who will be hard to keep off the court.

Thanks for the report, Dave, Keep them coming!

Gotta love it... the one we have talked about the least (in the past few months anyway...) seems to be doing the BEST! I love this recruiting class.

Two quality guards, an athletic, strong, local, big man... and then apparently one in-between who will be "hard to keep off the court" -- excellent!

Go get 'em new guys... show them that you deserve some playing time!!

I know I'm way ahead of myself at this point BUT...................I love the potential of having Milos and John Wilkins together in a couple of years. Two big versatile players like they seem to be on the same team can really present nightmare matchups for others!! Let's hope everything falls into place and we as BU fans can realize that potential in a few years.

What I am truely excited about at this point is we have competition everywhere not just in our back court but at all 5 positions on the court. And not just numbers but quality both athletically and basketball wise.

I have a feeling we might hear more then once that the game are easy compared to the practices.

Great report. Going to be hard to relax waiting for the season... but at least the Bears are off to a nice start to distract me. :)

Dave's report gives a view of one who saw a single workout..but I have "heard" that Milos often wows with his shooting, passing.....
That's not to say he still won't take time to develop, but those are nice things to hear.

as a side note that I find funny...scout.com still hasn't figured out that Milos Knezevic isn't the same, identical person as Milos Kluet.

Rivals doesn't have this problem

I wonder if Milos would have been only a 2 star recruit had he gone to a larger school. Didn't he have a chance to go higher? I can't remember who recruited him now, but I bet a lot of schools will have wished they would have by the time he is done.

Before its all said and done, this will be a very good recruiting class! JP and DSE will be good players.....JE will light up 3's when he gets his strength back and MK is going to be something we as Brave fans have wanted for a long time....6'8 player who can Pass-Shoot and Dribble!

What about the rumor that ISU has entered the mix for Wilkins' services?

UNLV was recruiting him, if I remember right...

Everything sounds peachy, but I would much rather have someone who can rebound

Would it be a stretch to assume that a kid who is 6 feet 8 inches tall (Milos) and is said to have great foot work and mobility, would be able to do some rebounding as well? I know Milos is not a banger but I would think that with his atrtributes he would be able to help out on the boards?

Thats the thing rebounding is not about who is tallest or can jump highest, often it is positioning and simply wanting to get the ball. We have very good rebounding in our back court, Warren and DD are good as is EM, now I know they will not get a majority of boards but when you get mulitipule numbers of boards from guards that is always helpful.

But no way this team is like it was with Salley and a bunch of 6'3 and unders trying to board with teams of 6'8 guys, that case it doesnt matter on desire size killed up on the boards every single night.

Now we have size all over and I am betting with the better competition all over the court the desire to board and play d will ratchet up bigtime.

We boarded decently last season 1160 to 1185 the difference was on the offensive boards. Offensive boards are critical repeated scoring attempts are so hurtful. But those numbers are a stark improvement on the two previous years out boarded by 64 and 3 years ago 238.

This area, I think is a point of emphasis with Les both in game but in his recruiting. Regardless of when he says he plays without attention to who plays 1,2,3,4 or 5 his recruiting recently is a direct reflection on getting bigger all over the court, along with more length and those two things help with rebounding but the competition in practice will be what makes this team a much better rebounding team.

I think we will see most nights SM and/or EM, alot of Warren, and the next 3 will be who gets to the boards and plays the hardest defensively. But when your choices are DD, Roberts, Brown, Egolf, MK and Prosser thats a ton of height, length and overall size. That type of body is not found very often in the MVC but its certainly not found in the overall numbers BU has to put on the floor... thats not even figuring in SS or if Thompson can contribute.

Hmm... For some reason I am fairly confident that Wilkins ends up here. However I am worried about Harris. It seems like it is going to drag out longer than anticipated and he reaaly had no strong ties to BU before his commitment. 3 years is a long time to still feel the same.

Keep in mind, we also needed someone who could make the three last year. Maybe we get a rebounder and a shooter with Milos????

Right now we do not have a proven jumpshooter on the roster, hopefully aw will be that man. I am not counting on any of the freshmen this year, maybe next. In the mean time I would love to have a joe allen or big mike banging for us...

HTB don't get me excited about playing bigger, as I have been disappointed before with the playing of 4 guards:!::roll:
