Win in hand, not full house

Some interesting comments-
Year Two of the Bradley men playing a regular-season basketball game in the Renaissance Coliseum was, by all accounts other than the BU victory, a disappointment.
A couple of BU athletics administrators admitted as much to me privately following the Braves??™ 78-61 Monday night win over Texas-Pan American.

Regarding the low attendance and the chances of continuing games at the Ren Col-
???You have to think of it from a holistic standpoint. One game on campus is an important piece to try and position ourselves to have a championship-caliber program....
So having Renaissance Coliseum as an available option for one game, and maybe more, is a card that Cross likes to hold up his sleeve.
???I wouldn??™t rule out (hosting more than one game at RC),??? Cross said. ???If a second game in this building gets us another home game, I??™m absolutely thinking about it.

And also some interesting comments by Michael Cross and DR regarding the ceremony for one of Bradley's all time greats, Anthony Parker, during such a meaningless, low-attended game.

I will stick with my original opinion. Big thumbs down!

What a crock...they seem to have some excuse for everything they screw up. Anyone can see the moving of games to the RC was a blunder, and they need to stop it before it becomes an embarrassment. But they want to pretend all is well, and that the students didn't show up because they all must have been in class. What is their excuse for why only a small number of regular fans attended? And please don't insult our intelligence with that excuse about the Anthony Parker fiasco.
Is it ever possible for the Bradley admins to just admit they made a mistake with any of their dumb moves? Something is seriously wrong when they keep making mistakes, they know they made the mistakes, they know everyone else knows, and yet they still keep telling us it was a great idea. Fans are not that dumb!

At the same time, BU is just one tenant at Carver Arena and often can’t get the dates for games it wants.

“I wouldn’t rule out (hosting more than one game at RC),” Cross said. “If a second game in this building gets us another home game, I’m absolutely thinking about it."

I'm pretty sure Monday's game could have been scheduled at the Civic Center, so don't keep feeding us the line about getting us another home game just because it's in your new building!

Call it what it truly is......another part of the great cash grab!

“When you compare this year to last, it’s easy to say not every seat was filled and it therefore wasn’t successful,” he said. “I don’t look at it that way. I look at it as we won the game and we did have significant student turnout, more than we get at Carver Arena."

I wasn't at the first game this season, but I remember hearing there was a very nice student turnout for that game. By the way, we won that game too.
