Dave Snell Joins Bradley Athletics Staff Full-Time

Great decision by BU. Anything that has Dave's name mentioned with BU is a huge plus for BU. Other then players past and present,when I think of BU basketball Daves name is the first thing that comes to my mind. Congrats Dave well deserved.

Super move by the AD. My old friend Dave S. is a great guy and a GREAT broadcaster and will be a tremendous asset to BU.

Congrats. to Dave. Looks like the program is getting stronger and stronger with the moves the new AD is making!
 
Dr. Cross is making some moves and it is good to see some change and shake-ups within the athletic department. This is great news and Dave Snell deserves it.

On a side note, Dave's brother is one heck of a jeweler and just as nice of a guy. I recently purchased an engagement ring from him, so if anyone is looking to take the plunge, contact Larry at Jewelry on Water! He can take care of you.

I agreed with you that he was shaking things up until I saw this move. I simply do not believe this move was made.

You put Jim Les' best friend into a larger role in athletics!?!?

IMO this was LONG overdue. Being Les' friend is mutually exclusive to the job. You can't get much better in the Peoria market and at what BU pays than Dave Snell.

Dave Snell is an absolutely amazing man, and has a passion for BU Basketball. He does a great job promoting the Braves, and will serve BU proudly. Snell was involved with BU before JL, and despite your obvious bias, being friends with Les doesn't make you evil or tainted.

I don't know what makes someone amazing, so I will leave that out for now.

As for promoting Bradley and serving it, well I know many who fit that bill.

I also do not know what bias you are referring to either.

However, I do find it interesting that the new AD would hire inside BU, when all we have heard about is getting rid of the old and remaking the image of the athletic department.

I also find it especially hard to believe we will ever get a fair or balanced question from Dave to the coach before or after games.

If you want a bias, that might be it.
 
This isn't about trying to remake the entire athletic department, I believe it's about getting the best people in every position. IMO that's what those in charge are doing.

Why would you ever expect a fair or balanced question to a coach from an AD in public? An AD is not a reporter, it is Dave's job to PROMOTE Bradley basketball... SO what's your point?

Dave does cover the team for the radio. So that may be where JD is coming from.
 
Every single college (and it's the same in the pros) I know about has the sole right to choose or review the guys who do their radio or TV coverage...
so I don't get it....why should Bradley be held to a completely different standard and be required to hire a guy to do their broadcasts that is NOT pro-Bradley and who is more inclined to go hard after the answers that some desire?
This is just another in the long line of demands people seem to endlessly come up with that hold Bradley to some weird standard that NOBODY else is ever held to!!

I don't get it... Here is someone saying that another poster said something they didn't.... You just can't stand it when someone says a contrary thought... lol

Okay, I will ask you a question. Would you, personally, like to see the coach asked real and tough questions? Or would you like to see "softball" questions?

I know Dave is pro-BU. I think everyone here is as well. However, I think there are some obvious questions that could be asked following games that never are asked.
 
I don't need to have anyone ask the coach any questions....
Dave Snell isn't working for me...I want Dave to work for the betterment of the team and the program...period...
BTW -- I think Dave Snell is more knowledgable about basketball in general and about BU and his sidekicks (JS & CB) add so much, that personally I think they tell us all we'd ever need to know...
They even have hosted the radio call in show for years allowing you to add or ask just about any question you want...and on top of that the local press had long demanded a degree of openness and answering to the press that's way beyond what most media ever asks....the head coach isn't even allowed to make his mind up about starters at game time - he's expected by the locals to call and tell all to the beat writer.....
I really have no idea what you're talking about with this lack of "hardball questions"......there's plenty of ways to get any quesiton you want to the coach.....and we even had Coach Les live on the chat here asking you to please give him some "hardball questions"....so what MORE do you want???
