Donivine Stewart: "I meant it!"

Glad to have you still aboard DS! You will not regret it for a day!

Wonder if DSE is worried about future PT and where he would fit in if DS and RA are on the roster, as well as any new recruits GF can bring in next year...

Or, possibly waiting to see if new BU offensive scheme suits him

Or, possibly waiting to see if BU will have enough quality bigs next year and during his senior year to compete for championships/NCAA in the MVC...

I didn't mean to imply DSE has to worry about #1,2...but these are the things I would want to find out about before committing to return to BU.
#3 may be the key.

Can fully understand players' disappointment/anger with JL being let go. He wasn't let go because he abused the players or was a bad person.....I would imagine he is a guy that one would want to be with/look up to.

My guess is JL was almost a father/step father figure to SM...To the others, JL was a great person and did win over the kids and their parents when recruiting them....Loyalty would be expected with the character of the kids BU recruits...

Successfully dealing with change/disappointment/uncertainty in their future lives is also a key trait BU students and graduates need to develop...I am sure we can all relate to change/disappointment/uncertainty in our post college lives/careers!

There has been sound evidence previously presented that Donivine has an amazing love for Peoria and has numerous reasons why he'd strongly want to play here, near family and friends, etc...

So he wasn't lying as some insinuated when he said he was staying 'no matter what' a month or so ago?

I do not recall anyone saying he was lying --he had always wanted to play in Peoria --
but did you ever consider the possible scenario that if JL was fired, the new guy would or could say he didn't want DS?? It's been known to happen where an incoming coach even sends a recruit under a LOI packing...
Calipari did it at Kentucky........even Mac did it at Creighton and said no to one of Dana's guys and released him...

Cancelled your tickets yet? I need 2 more. Let me know when I can call.

I hear there are still plenty of good seats available. Seats much closer than where I sat for 25 years. I bet you can have some nice lower bowl seats around midcourt right now - seats that haven't been available for years.

When I said I wanted to play for my city and play for Bradley, I meant it.??™??™[/B][/I]

This is the attitude that I want our program to instill in recruits, period, regardless of coaches, schedules, success, etc. Once a Brave, Always a Brave. In my eyes, you are a Brave Mr. Stewart.

Would that be the corporate seats that weren't filled?

Or, would that be the old guy who whined when fans actually wanted to stand up and cheer for BU?

If either ... I'll be happy to hold the door for 'em on the way out. :D

That old guy is what has kept the program going, but this is no time to be worrying about that. It's time to unite behind the new coach and stop cutting up other loyal fans.

I actually completely agree. But in reality, it has really set me off that people still wanna live in the past and be cranky and upset and post these negative things about what happened with the previous coach and how these "important" fans are gone.

That old guy isn't going to be around forever and it's about time people stopped living in the past or even 2006. I want to rally around the new coach too, but we still are seeing these posts about how we "paid too much" and other nonsense that isn't fair to Coach Ford. Jeeze give him a chance and maybe he will take us to where we all hope the program can go.

So, sorry if you thought I was taking a shot at your Chico. I have a ton of respect for the elder fans (and nobody has actually ever told me to sit down personally :D). What I can't put up with is people who always want to find something negative when things are looking up and promising with a new beginning.

being a bit more experienced and alerady a year of juco -- I think Sean Harris would be awesome to get -- I hope Geno is on it as we speak

I agree. But it would be hard to communicate with him much wouldn't it? It took a while for him to find out JL was let go I thought. Does anyone know when he is scheduled to return from his trip?

Great news on DS and some of the boys staying! Let's put a good season together for JL and for our new coach GF!!

Sorry, but the post I was replying to and this post don't add up. Who said anything about living in the past? I don't read entire threads all the time, so there might be some negative posts about the hiring of Coach Ford, but I haven't seen any outside of 1 poster. Maybe someone is trying to stir something up, but right now I don't think it's proper.

On local ESPN radio this afternoon, Ford said TB got another piece of good news from his doctor today. TB's not cleared yet, but Ford said that if the top doctor at Mayo eventually says TB's ready, Ford would let him play.
