Drake Message Board

I think we are 0-0.

It all starts now.

4 of next 6 at home with 2 winnable road games. We could be 6-0 on Feb 3rd with a Ruffin-return looming. A 6-0 run would get us a decent BracketBuster game in late Feb. Finish 5-3 down the stretch (losses at DU, CU and ISU), 11-7 in conference (likely good enough for a top 6 finish), and 12-3 in last 15 games going into St Louis.

Postseason is not out of the question. The season is not over - not by a long shot.

IT ALL STARTS NOW!

0-0

LET'S GO BRAVES!!!

no such thing....and you appear to not even know what's being discussed, since whatever Gary Parrish had to say isn't even relevant to this.

and if you want to know something about who was off base and who was not...
go check how many people said Drake was going top be bad this year, and then check this from before the season even started....

WOW tornado! I'm really impressed by your predicting abilities! Please, let me worship you and bow down at your feet! Nice job of changing the subject...

Anyway, if you aren't referring to the part of Parrish's article that was quoted, what quote are you referring to?

Go back and read the very post in this thread.

The very first post quotes an interview supposedly with Seth Davis on-air ESPN....I can't see why so many people are unable to read that. The first post never mentions a thing about Gary Parrish.

Oh, and thanks for the compliment, but I eschew any kind of worship.

LOL....just a quick FYI on that one. The guy who posts as "Mc Bulldog" on Drakenation is from the Peoria area originally....went to many, many Bradley games as a kid. Any of the posts on that thread about Peoria/central Illinois are directed at McBulldog and not at the area itself. FWIW, USMCdog who also posted about the area in that thread is also from (and currently lives in) the Peoria area.

What quote above? The only quote I see above is a quote from Gary Parrish, a sportswriter. How does what a sportswriter say translate into Drake looking past BU. Edit: I didn't see CPac's post when I was typing mine...looks like we both posted at about the same time

As for your first paragraph....there has not been a SINGLE post yet on the Drake board about the Drake-ISU game, so I have no idea where you're coming from on that one. Drake's board is a little different than this one. For whatever reason, there's not usually a lot of pre-game discussion of any game.

It seems like some people are trying to create something (disrespect for Bradley from the Drake fans/coaches) that is simply not there.

Come on DU...we are trying to get a RIVALRY going here. All this nicey nice talk won't help it any.:)

We HATE The Drake.....isn't it nice to be hated? That USUALLY means you're good.:)

I know, but I just can't hate back on Bradley....saw my first Bradley game (in Chicago) back in the '60s....long before I ever saw a Drake game (1976). When I attended Drake, Bradley was probably the biggest rivalry game the Bulldogs had.

Thanks for the help.

In any case, does Keno Davis not have a reason to be excited about a 14-1 start? Did you really expect him to go on national TV and talk about their game at Bradley instead of promoting his team and something that school hasn't seen in decades?

I acknowledged that he had the right to be excited way back in October, before just about anyone else did.

According to the media guide this will be the 124th meeting with DU. The next meeting with the Shockers will the the 122nd (including the game already played this year), with the next Redbird game 105th, rounding out the top 5 is Tulsa at 99 and holding, the Jays at 73.

We have played the Bulldogs more than anyone. It should be a friendly rival.

Well, I am not above fabricated bulletin board material. I hope all your fans are as friendly as you are, and congrats on your season so far. If you are going to the game, safe travels but I hope you go home disappointed. I am sure you understand.

Its hard to hate the Drake also....actually hate isn't even a good word when it comes to hoop rivalries.

Its just fun to really look forward to this game....extra incentive with you being in first.

Should be a good one.

From the Drakenation board:

DBSSD06 says:"In the MSU game, players stepped up who needed to. So if they're able to do that again at Bradley tomorrow I'm thinking Drake stays unbeaten in conference fairly easily." "Drake will be in firm control by halftime and will ride it out to the win." I think this is going to go down as another win on the road for the Dogs leading up to the Illinois State game on Saturday." JSM says:"Overall I think it's a comfy win in Peoria."

getreal 4 says:"Am excited about this road trip. It's a short ride home after the W."

I apologize, the color guy was Doug Gottlieb.
