Drake wins at SIU

This season in the MVC is getting more bizarre every game.
Drake was 0-4 before tonight- now they win at SIU, an incredibly tough place to win.

Who would have imagined Bradley, Creighton and SIU all start 2-3 in the MVC?

Seems there were also several upsets in the top 25 today...

Oh, that was at SIU? Yikes for them! But heck, that may give us some hope to steal a win there! That's why as bad as today was, I will never write off a season, even if we lose badly at UNI. I think things get at least somewhat easier after Tuesday night.

IMO, Drake relies too much on their outside shooting, and so does SIU. Teams like that will win some games they aren't expected to win, and lose some they should win.
Unfortunately, Bradley has been similar, relying too much on outside shooting, with a weak inside game.

Here is another interesting comparison-
While the Peoria writers rip the Braves and declare "this is not a good team" and "better days are not ahead", the writer for The Southern newspaper wites this about SIU and their fans-

Staying positive: SIU hoops fans are optimistic

Apparently, those writers in Carbondale haven't been reading the SIU fan message board. There are numerous "fire Chris Lowery" threads, and there aren't any threads that are optimistic.

That article also has this unexplainable blunder.
It says-
"The loss to Drake on Wednesday was the team's third straight after a six-game winning streak."

Fact- the SIU game against Drake was played yesterday, Saturday.

Well again, that gives us hope at SIU. And here's hoping we can exploit Lowery's new emphasis on offense this year and get the ball inside more on this team, and others as well.

SIU won at Bradley....Bradley won at Drake....Drake won at SIU....

Good luck figuring out what will happen when BU plays at SIU :)
