Finally an ending to a sad, sad case.
Just one more situation where the Rev. Al Sharpton (among other politicians) has embarrassed himself and shown his bias.

Likewise Jesse Jackson who presumed guilt upon the athletes, and proclaimed the situation as a "HORROR".

But of course Don Imus is being crucified for his comments. While not exactly an apples-to-apples case, and while perhaps Imus was out of line, his comments are certainly no worse than some of the stupidity that's been spewn by others with little or no recourse. Stuart Scott said publicly that the term 'b-tches and h-'s' was a term of endearment in the hip-hop world for God's sake!
 
Actually this is the one message board that contains the least discussion about don Imus, Rutgers, nappy heads, etc.

This is America. Last I checked, we have free speech in America. Guys like Al Sharpton need to shove it. Like Sharpton would know crap about racism, or wait, I guess he would, with his feelings toward whites. But that's ok because minorities can say whatever they want. Fact is, if Dave Chappelle said it, we'd all be laughing.
 
Not only were the charges dropped, the North Carolina State Attorney General said that the lacrosse players were "INNOCENT" :!: That is huge for him to say this.
 
I think I would uphold the rights of people like Sharpton and Jackson to say as they want, but how many times to they take on racially charged issues, and side with the people who in the end are discredited and found to be the lawbreakers?
The Decatur football riot, the Tawana Brawley case, the the rape accuser whose story doesn't hold water, etc.

They should choose their "fights" more wisely or in the end they lose credibility.

I agree with T here, let them take on these 'fights' and when stuff like this happens it just makes them look foolish. I really feel for the Duke kids, while what they were doing was not necessarily 'right' to have their lives completely altered and reputations shattered because of a false accusation is terrible, I really hope they can put this behind themselves.
 
Imus' ratings will be an all time high when he returns.
A million dollars couldn't have bought all the publicity he got for free.

Its amazing how quickly the NCAA reacts when Duke wants something done. Duke wants students reinstated and poof NCAA approves the extra year.

Didnt it take the NCAA almost a year to decide on the fait of Tyress (sp) Bryson at ISU? Isnt there still no decision from the NCAA on alleged violations by the USC football players during their Championship season?

I think this is what happened. Duke knew they were in the families sights for law suits because of how this was handled from the begining. So Old coach K picks up the phone and says Hey Miles we need a favor, and well the NCAA knowing coack K is the boss, does not hesitate to decide yes it would be a great idea to give these students an addtional year of eligiblity.

I am not saying the decision is wrong or right. It is opening up a huge can of worms for anyone who feels they have lost athletic time because of an adverse situation but its really amazing how quickly the NCAA made this decision.
 
The Duke lacrosse prosecutor, Mike Nifong is now facing
trial on ethics charges. I think the strippers should go on trial as well for this travesty.
