Duke vs. Butler

I also thought that this game was well officiated. Even the stats suggest that this was well officiated.

Personal Fouls: Butler 18 Duke 14

Free Throws Attempted: Butler 18 Duke 16

It was a very physical game and it was that way from tip to buzzer. The charge call was a total miss, no intential foul but we have seen less whistled intentional. Officials pretty much called it the same throughout the game.

Butler lost because they could not score the basketball. If it were not for free throws they lose by a lot more. 33% from the field will not win many games. You can attribute a lot of those missed to Dukes defense but Butler missed a lot of shots in the lane within 5 feet of the basket. As good as Heyward is he was 2-9 before the two misses at the end. Veasley 1-10. Also going over 7 minutes without a made field goal isnt very helpful.

I thought Duke did a very good job of pressuring Butlers guards. I though, thought Butler didnt do enough to issolate Heyward and let him play more one on one. He had one assist in 40 minutes, he is a better playmaker then that.

Anyone know if we have Butler on the schedule for this season? They got out of the game this year but I thought they we were to play them in 2010-11.

Houston my thoughts exactly. I even commented during the game that that is what was needed. They did start to but went away from that when Howard came back in??

I also believe they will be on our schedule next year!

Have we ever gotten a definitive answer on the status of the series? All I know is they put it on hold this year, but I can't imagine either side wanting out permanently.
