Dyricus Simms-Edwards

tornado

New member
I thought I'd start a separate thread....so Dyricus Simms -Edwards won't have trouble finding the fact to help him decide.

Today's memo to Dyricus.........

1--a couple articles and some posts on the K-State message boards suggest that the kid who's leaving at Kansas State, Ron Anderson,
has hinted of "bad blood" among members of the team.....and "a falling-out with the coaches"

2--they're also worried about the upcoming NCAA Academic Progress report and may lose scholarships in the future just as they did this past season because of terrible academics
"(K-State) basketball ...posting the lowest average for any sport with an APR of 928"

3--the article below says this about all the new incoming kids....
that there will be
"a potential minutes crunch with the influx of so much talent..."

4--also, Kansas State doesn't even have an Athletic Director hired....the guy they had only lasted 11 month, then resigned in January, so they haven't had
and AD since then and don't expect to have one in place until at least June.
K-State has had 3 different basketball coaches in three years and three different AD's in three years.

5--and TWO of their top fan sites say this..........
"As of right now, K-State doesn't have another commitment, but they are pursuing two prep players.
... [Martavious] Irving and [Latavious] Williams are the last two targets for the Class of 2009"

and
"(an inside) source told me that Irving and Williams are the last two targets for the Class of 2009"

what???? again NOT even a mention of Dyricus!! K-State giving DSE ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT!!!!

Perhaps they'd show him some love if his name was Dyricavious - he is just missin' a few letters.

Hope you end up wearing RED instead of Purple, DSE.

I hope he makes the best choice for himself...wherever that may be.

BU...KSU or some other University.

Sounds like a great kid and that he will flourish and make whomever HE chooses proud for 4 years and beyond.

Nice par.....:)

Here is some breaking news that DSE might want to know---

Kansas State just gave away their only available scholarship (freed up by Ron Anderson leaving last week).
Today they signed Martavious Irving, a 3-star, 6'2" wing guard from Miami.

If DSE really wanted to go there, then I feel bad for him. Otherwise, that may be very good news for BU.

Here's a question - what is the etiquette for a coach who has several players waiting on one scholie? Do they call them & let them know they accepted the verbal/LOI?

Almost every coach does this. It is the only way to minimize the liklihood of getting shut-out. Most coaches will tell the recruits that the first one to commit gets the scholarship, or they might tell them that the scholarship is dependent on the higher priority kid making his choice first.

I think the concern over K-State is misdirected. Don't believe that K-State had ever offered.

We should be concerned about others more than K-State.

But according to this article and previous topic, DSE was down to BU and KSU. He dropped UNI from his top choices.

I'm still not too sure he dropped UNI from his choices, or if they dropped him. They signed Antonio Jones on April 15 and the PJS reports five days later that DSE has apparently dropped UNI from his list. Jacobson has already stated that he'd like to give the last scholarship to senior walk-on Brian Haak. Doesn't matter at this point, I'm just not sure the decision was really DSE's when it comes to UNI.

By the way, I'm ready to update the grid when you are DSE!

Offers come in a lot of different shapes. I believe there was some kind of offer made from Kansas State, but with this latest signing, I would not be surprised if that offer has changed.

Mr. Reynolds source may have been incorrect. Also, another school may have jumped in more recently.

Based on the sites I trust with reliable information and other items of interest I don't think K-State ever made an offer. Our comp for Dyricus might just be a school no one is mentioning.
