Dyricus To Stay at Bradley!

DSE staying! Great news.

The first "KABOOM" under new Coach Ford!

Let's hope for several more in the NCAA LOI period coming up!

(As many pointed out, the new BU coach and staff would be a big factor in players/recruits staying post JL.)

Thanks DSE!

Thanks DSE!

Awesome news! DSE is one of my favorites by a long shot! I think he was one of the keys to a quick turn around and he'll flourish in the new system!

DSE will benefit from Geno's style of play for sure and could be an all-MVC pick with Donivine setting the table. Love to see the locals do well!

Guys - I've been checking this site twice a day solely to see if there's any news on DSE...hoping and praying for him to stay at BU. The day has arrived and I'm super-psyched!!!

I write this with a little somber-ness, but I think we'll be allllll-right without Sammy next season.

I think Geno has a lot to work with next season. With TB, DSE, and the supporting cast :D, we should be a top-half Valley team next season at the very least.
I see WE, JP, WL, JE all have better seasons - not to mention how MK, AT, AD might be used to help the team.
We are a Remy away from maybe having the best/deepest roster for next season in the Valley.
Add that JUCO recruit that was going to play for Geno at KSU, and we're talkin' Valley Champs, baby!
o.k. - o.k, I'm gettin' waaaaaay ahead of myself here.

Man - I don't think I can sleep tonight just thinkin' about the good news over the past 10 days for BU hoops!!!

Tip of the iceberg folks...tip of the iceberg! :)

I'm happy that DSE has chosen to stay at BU. I've followed him since his days at Washington High School, and he is one of my favorite players on the current roster.

Let's hope this is just the "tip of the iceburg" of the good news to be coming from the Hilltop over the next few days!

I just wish people who tried to convince everyone Bradley basketball was falling into oblivion would come back and happily admit they were wrong.

There's finally a vibe around this program that has been missing for some years now no matter what some people try to say.

If his game continues to ascend, and success follows, DSE could become legendary because of his loyalty to the university and community. Lead us Dyricus, lead us!

This is great news indeed! But I agree with you LittleBrave that I kinda wish SM would have at least waited for the new coach to be hired before making his final decision. I mean I know he had to talk with Weber before that opening was filled, but he could have waited to make his final choice after meeting with Ford.

Oh well, not that big a deal like you said, as I do think we have the potential to retain most everyone else for next season.

I am one of those who thought we could be in some trouble from mass player defections, because whether most want to admit this or not, it does happen quite a bit more often than not when coaches are let go. But it doesn't happen in every situation and I for one admit that I have been wrong so far. And I only say so far because I'm not sure if we have confirmed most of the other players will definitely be back next year, though most are expected to return. RA is of course the big player we are still waiting for confirmation on.

So yes, I do admit that I may have been premature to think we would be in big trouble next year, but I also hoped like everyone else here that most of the team would be back. Just because I thought we would lose a lot of players doesn't mean I wanted that to happen, and I am just as happy as you are DeltaBrave that we may have a much better season than originally thought next year.

+1

Let's celebrate the good news, and keep the good news coming, rather than calling people freak shows and making idle threats.

Onward and Upward!

I totally agree! There were so many people saying that the program is headed down a bad road, that there would be a mass exodus of players, that we would get an unproven coach that everyone except the administration would disapprove of. Where are these people now?

Please, no more "where are the doomsayers now?" talk on this Forum, just as I wouldn't want to hear comments about where GF backers are if there are hiccups (and there can/probably will be hiccups) along the way with GF others take exception to.

No more us vs them, no more pro JL vs anti JL.....no more pro BU admin vs anti BU admin...

Right or wrong, fair or not, there is a new Coach at BU.

Time to just celebrate what JL DID accomplish at BU, and, eagerly look forward to what we hope GF CAN accomplish during his turn at BU.

I'm just wondering, did that one obscene comment that I refuse to quote have anything to do with anything? He seems like an obscure poster, so... anyway.

What happened to DC? I was hoping he'd come out in strong support of whoever the new coach would be.

Don't remember seeing any post that predicted any of that. Some of us might not have agreed with the firing of JL, but didn't predict doom for the program.
