Dyricus To Stay at Bradley!

Don't remember seeing any post that predicted any of that. Some of us might not have agreed with the firing of JL, but didn't predict doom for the program.

I don't have the time to scour through threads right now looking for these things, but here are a few things that took just a couple minutes to find.

Braves4Life - Well, I guess next year is going to just SUCK!

Bufan14 - I am incredibly mad/sad right now. If we lose all those players this year will look great compared to what next year will be. We had a chance to be something great next year, now we will probably finish at the bottom again....

AirPetey - I HATE all the JL haters. Be careful what you ask for!! The grass is not always greener on the other side!!

AE Braves Fan - If you hate losing then you better find another hobby for the next 3-4 years. -HA - it will become a full scale plummet. Maybe Joanne will be able to move down in the stands a bit or find a good camera zone seat. -This team is going to be really bad for several years when we could have just kept Les and won the conference next year.

Da Coach - The team next year will bear very little resemblance to anything we now see.

Dub - Having said that, Goodwill Industries is about to recieve a large donation of Bradley gear which I have already started sadly to box up. After the decision made today, to me this administration has transformed Bradley Basketball into something unrecognizable from the program I fell in love with.

Tornado - I am still a Bradley fan but have a bad feel for the direction all BU sports programs are headed...

Oh Chico...I'm not sure if you are lying or what but there were entire threads on the subject. And the quotes that bugreg put up is just a snapshot of all the comments. Remember there was an entire thread saying "the sky is not falling" just to counteract all the comments that were being thrown around about how the admin is bringing bu basketball down and players leaving, etc. It was most definitely there; i specifically remember a lot of posts claiming they weren't using "scare tactics" went discussing players leaving, and used SM leaving as proof. I admit I got worried.

I agree with AZ BU fan though...these types of "we were right and you were wrong" posts I don't like. First of all, this mass exodus of players thing, we aren't entirely out of the clear yet and I'm not liking the karma on the board. I do realize that it is likely everyone is staying but again...we're not sure yet.

We can credit the energy and drive of Geno Ford for averting what could have been a disaster. There were several of our players, including most of the projected starting lineup next season, who were all set to transfer. We did lose Sammy, a strong candidate for the conference POY next year, and that will hurt next year. We may still lose half of the best recruiting class in a while. But fans should realize just how close DSE and a couple other players were to leaving. Geno did a great job of "recruiting" them to stay. If we had hired some of the other names we heard about, this probably wouldn't have happened. Some coaches are happy to "clean house" and encourage players to leave just to open more spots for them to recruit their own players. Thankfully, we got a coach who wants to win right away, rather than take advantage of a "honeymoon" period to rebuild a team. Let's celebrate that and hope he can recruit Remy and Sean.

Dead on.

I just wish people who tried to convince everyone Bradley basketball was falling into oblivion would come back and happily admit they were wrong.

How 'bout we just move forward together and forget who said what to who in the past. We've all been wrong, and then bashed for it before, but who's keeping score?
Let's put our personal pride aside and build up our BU pride on this great ride into next season!

No more us vs them, no more pro JL vs anti JL.....no more pro BU admin vs anti BU admin...

Right or wrong, fair or not, there is a new Coach at BU.

Time to just celebrate what JL DID accomplish at BU, and, eagerly look forward to what we hope GF CAN accomplish during his turn at BU.

Amen to that, AZ!

While I have my reservations about this hire, I very much agree with your post! Well done Geno.

Lots of excitement for a Jim Les recruit that was good enough for us to finish in last place. ;-)

Without DSE's emergence last season after battling injury and a mini-funk at the beginning of the season, the Braves may have only won 3 of their last 10. He carried the team in the 1st round win vs. Drake.

If he plays next season like what we saw in the last 10 games (well, besides the last game vs. Wichita), he is undoubtedly a 1st-team MVC caliber guy.
Different perspectives I guess. I believe we'll see the Dyricus we saw in the last 10 games...maybe better.

No question, with Sammy leaving, getting DSE to stay was huge. Not that you can compare these 2 guys, but DSE is the leader we need for next season, his work ethic is contagious, and he's a great rep' for BU.

Not keeping score, but I have a problem with posters who can so easily bash every single move the administration made over the last month, and then when it looks like things aren't as bad as so many predicted they can't even bare to say they are happy they are wrong about the predicted fallout. It really bothered me how this board turned from being the "pro-BU" to anti-admin so quickly, and some of the posters who headed that charge can't even admit to their wrongs.

So much for the fallout. More great news! :D

don't be so confident - DSE was all but packed and gone -- and we owe a big debt of gratitude to a couple folks (big time BU fans) behind the scenes who helped turn the tide and resulted in DSE staying --

and how can anyone say there's no "fallout" -- we just lost the guy who would have been one of the two leading candidates for Preseason Player of the Year next fall..
...as well as still the possibly losing two of the best incoming kids..

Just read the article at a coffee shop. One thing that I question is the blurb at the end of the article about Geno's lawyers negotiating a buyout from Kent State. Shouldn't Bradley be negotiating the buyout? Maybe there is a lawyer out there who can explain this....

What??? There is still a list a mile long about what this admin has done wrong to this program. And many people on this board know what I'm talking about. There is NOTHING to admit right now. Don't get "not posting on this board" confused with "not admitting we are wrong." It has been a very busy spring this year and I have not been on this board much. After this comment, I'm probably done with this board.

And as for the "Tip of the Iceberg" that never included DSE... but he was very close to a transfer. He even said he did not think the admin would give him a release.

Even if we luck out and only lose Sammy, that is a huge loss and he alone makes next year's team a much weaker team.

Please, no more "where are the doomsayers now?" talk on this Forum, just as I wouldn't want to hear comments about where GF backers are if there are hiccups (and there can/probably will be hiccups) along the way with GF others take exception to.

This is your best post ever. Without question.

Oh Shut Up! I don't post alot, but read the board everyday, multiple times a day. I just get sick of reading the "I told you so" threads and the demanding that people apologize. This is a message board after all. It's one of the few places that people came come to and express there immediate emotions, reactions, joys and frustrations. That's what makes message boards unique and is part of their appeal. There have been alot of emotionally charged events over the last few months and people reacted accordingly. Let's just enjoy the positive news and just take the past comments as a way of venting off frustration! Don't take everything so personal or assume its anti-BU!

Do you not agree 45ots?
No, I can't say that I do.

A last place team loses their best player to graduation and lose their team leader to transfer, and now they're poised to make a run at the title?

Still no post pressence.
Is DS starting, because DSE's production will go down at the point.

Who would start on this championship contending team?
