Early Preseason College Basketball Magazines and Previews

Recruiting requires relationships that are built 1-2 years in advance, so the facilities couldn't have helped until now...so you're being a bit unfair.....

..feel free to e mail JL and give him some names, but I can assure you he's working as hard as any other MVC coach, and he's the only one in the league who's landed a future NBA center and a future lottery pick center -- and we lost 2 years (2006-2007 and 2007-2008 ) of POB's services because he WAS good enough to go in the draft, so I think you're being a bit harsh on him..

Remember JL is the one tha.t told PO he was ready for the NBA and nothing could have been farther from the truth. He can't even play in the d league. Anyhow JL didn't recuite him he was reruited by AB and MO and arrived under J

I'm looking forward to what Willie Scott and Jim Platt do in terms of helping us recruit. We've got one filled with DS and with 3 seniors and the open scholarship, that would leave us 3 open scholarships for next year. I like the idea that we banked the one we couldn't fill when we thought we were going to do it and it didn't happen.

What I'm really looking forward to is what Willie Scott and Jim Platt can add to the coaching mix and game plan. I also like that Kyle Vogt is still an assistant and the addition of JC. We've got a good staff and and players so I know that translates into of good season, best season since the S16 run and maybe this time too.

Sorry BUFAN but you've simply got your facts wrong here. The truth is JL nearly had a falling out with POB and, it's rumored, did have a falling out with POB's father because he DID NOT feel POB was ready. In the end, I think the decision came down to dollars and cents....... and there's no denying that POB made the right decision here, IMO.

I really doubt Jim Les said any such thing, and in fact I clearly recall Coach Les' words spoken from the podium
at the post-season banquet that was held in the exhibit hall at the Civic Center because of the huge crowd...

As I recall..this is essentially what he said..
"I am going to tell you people (the audience) exactly what I have told Patrick and his family,
that I am not sure he is ready yet for the NBA but if he is assured of going in the top 10,
then I cannot deny that would be an opportunity that is too good to pass up...and I would expect him to take that opportunity.
."
Then he turned directly towards POB and said..."If you are a top 10 pick, you should go. If not, you should stay."

Here is the link to our discussion of that speech...

JL did NOT tell him he was "ready" ..he told him IF you were a top ten pick you should go.

EDIT. Sorry I should have read the posts before mine...but the facts remain the same. Didn't mean to pile on.

Unless something has changed, we only have two scholarships for next season.
