Eric Gordon -Illinois recruit

In an article in The Indianapolis Star this morning (8/9), Eric Gordon's father says he and his son Eric were just on the Indiana campus to watch the Indiana Elite basketball camp, not on a recruiting visit.
Yeah, right. The soap opera continues.

The new Rivals TOP 150 has just been released.

Mike Tisdale has cracked the Top 150 (#148)
Bill Cole has fallen off the list.

But the biggest news is the Top 5, where Gordon and Michael Beasley have zoomed past OJ Mayo in the rankings.
Mayo had been top rated in Class of 2007 since he was in 7th grade, and this is the first time ever he has been bumped.

Here are the Top 10

1- Michael Beasley (going to K State)
2- Eric Gordon (verbally committed to Illinois)
3- Derrick Rose
4- Kyle Singler
5- OJ Mayo
6- Bill Walker
7- Kevin Love (committed to UCLA)
8- DeAndre Jordan (committed to Texas A&M)
9- Austin Freeman (Georgetown)
10- Jerryd Bayless (de-committed from Arizona)

45- Evan Turner
53- Jeff Teague

There are several current and former Bradley recruiting targets on the list--
#53 Jeff Teague- not considering Bradley now
#63 Scott Martin- now committed to Purdue
#74 James Johnson- Bradley is no longer listed on his list
#120 Manual Cass- Bradley is still listed, but I don't think Bradley is still as involved
#123 Gary McGhee- Bradley no longer listed
#125 Josh Southern- Bradley listed along with 14 majors

In an article about Jeff Teague possibly announcing his college choice today, it also notes that neither Eric Gordon nor Derrick Rose will take an official visit to Indiana.
IU hopefuls were still holding out hope..

It is widely rumored that Jeff Teague will announce for Wake Forest over Indiana. He just finished a visit there.

There must be a shortage of good point guards. Prior to this summer, Teagues only offers were from SIU and Bradley. But he has long since dropped the midmajors and has majors like Wake and Indiana after him. He also was just a 2-star recruit in the early summer, but now that the big schools are recruiting him, he has jumped to a 4-star recruit--

Just seems a little high for the 6 foot, 170 pound guard.

Two really big developments if anyone on the BFs board still cares.
Jeff Teague just announced he will go to Wake Forest.
Then just as soon as Teague announced, there is a big buzz that both Derrick Rose and Eric Gordon will visit IU campus this weekend.

The plot on Eric Gordon thickens. He is visiting Bloomington, Indiana this weekend with Derrick Rose of Chicago.

http://blogs.indystar.com/hoosiersinsider/

They were seen at a local Bloomington restaurant last night with Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson. And Indiana has scheduled and publicized a 4:15pm public scrimmage with the 2 visitors and the Indiana players. The Indiana message board posters are imploring fans to attend the scrimmage in large numbers to persuade Rose to come to Indiana and to get Gordon to dump Illinois and switch to Indiana. There are plenty of Indiana posters on their boards who say it is already a done deal.
Check out some of these discussions--

If Sampson somehow sways EG from his commitment to the Illini, he is going to end up the OJ of the midwest, a pariah in the coach fraternity. Whatever happened to the unwritten rule that you stop recruiting a kid once he's made a verbal commitment?

Dave Telep is seemingly reporting that as well.

Can you provide a link?

romar, the link is to the premium board on scout/insiders
On the national recruiting board he simply says that this thickens the plot as to whether Rose and Gordon will be at IU,
but he also makes a response on the DePaul premium board
suggesting he thinks they will both be at IU.

Here is the link to his own personal page and on it are links to his comments in threads titled
