ESPN3 Announcers

California Alum

New member
I can't take these announcers anymore! They are like a couple of high school guys. The lead one is the worst. I listen to other Valley announcers when they are on the road and it's night and day different. I can't this amature hour announcing any more. They continue to wander away from the game and talk about silly things. Enough is enough!!

would love to know the actual viewer count..
many web viewers have a little meter that registers the number of actual people watching...
Prob only a few hardcore fans watch on ESPN3 - I agree it's not the answer but then, we've been saying that here for years

BTW- remember that SIX years ago at the beginning of the JG/Mike Cross/Geno era, they vowed that video streaming ...
both the QUALITY and the universal availability - were an enormous priority and they were investing everything in it...
Well...this is where we are now...

The ESPN announcers today were Brian Bedo and Lee Hall. They are Bradley fans (though Lee Hall is an ISU alum) but they did tend to get off subject a bit, mostly about Peoria and Bradley history. I imagine the Evansville fans listening may have been even more annoyed. I don't know how many times they have worked together before, since I attend the games and don't listen to them, but I have always thought each of them do a good job.

I like the ESPN3 streams. I've gotten to see far more games the past two seasons than ever before. And if I miss one live, I love the on demand aspect.

you forgot that he brings up Morton girls basketball frequently cuz his daughter played with all those girls on the team

but I can't blame him for being a proud dad, and his daughter is a good athlete!

Not The Best

Not The Best

I sure agree that the ESPN3 announcers are not the greatest. When we play better, we will get better quality there too.

but on the road games we get the road announcer crews and most of 'em aren't a whole lot of fun to listen to either

Should be glad you could watch the game. Can always turn the sound down.

Agreed. Spend Jan - March in Florida and used to feel like I was on the moon when trying to follow the Braves. ESPN3 is a blessing to this old alum/67 year BU fan.

I would agree that Hall-Bedo are extremely amateurish and annoying but I don't see how we could ask for anything better than the ESPN contract we have. The Peoria television market is horrible, unprofitable and getting worse. The world now runs on the web and with streaming video and I would guess the majority of knowledgeable fans would agree that this is the best deal we could have hoped for.
