Evansville wins at #23 Butler in OT

Just went final, Evansville knocks off #23 Butler AT Butler, very good win for them, final score, 71-68, one of the best wins for the valley so far, unfortunately..

great win for Evansville, just shows you that a good coach can take lesser talent and come up with a plan to beat a better team and on the road to beat, it seems like we are one of the few teams in the conf. to have regressed over the last few years, SIU and Drake would be the other 2, look at how many players Evansville lost in the last 2 seasons but were able to get a huge win today because Marty is a good coach as proven at SIUE, look at SIUE"s program now after he left, very poor shape and I doubt that Lennox will be there much longer.

Evansville came back from a dozen down to take it to overtime and get a HUGE upset on the road against a ranked team!
Way to go Aces.

The box score for the Louisiana-Monroe-Illinois State game has a couple interesting stats-
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/boxscore?gid=201011270269

The Redbirds, who have been one of the poorer 3-point shooting teams in the league (31.9% going into tonight's game) shot only 2-14 from three.

The attendance for a Saturday night home game was only 4,395. :?
Were the students on break? After 4 home games, all wins, their average home attendance is only 4,344, and their largest crowd was only 4401.

The MVC goes 5-1 tonight-

The only loss was an 82-81 loss by Drake at home to Weber State.
Weber State's junior guard Damian Lilliard had 31 points. He is averaging 22.5 ppg through 6 games for WSU.
Lilliard was a Bradley recruit a couple years ago-

Did the article mention how Drake lost the game?

Rayvonte Rice hit a runner to give Drake a 1 point lead with about 17-18 seconds left.

WSU called a timeout, and Seth Van Deest drew a charge on Lillard with 5.7 seconds left. Aaron Hawley of Drake grabbed the missed shot, and in his excitement bounced the ball about 15 feet in the air as he was walking down court. The officials called a technical foul on Hawley for "spiking the ball", and Lillard hit the two free throws to give Weber State the victory. (Hawley caught the ball in stride, it's not like he spiked it into the 2nd deck or something).

There is video of Hawley's "spike" on mvcfans.com

I don't know whether it was the right call or not, but it seemed like a horrible way for a game to be decided.
