Favorite BU Player of All-time?

Hersey Hawkins. Unbelievable on the court, even better off the court. He is what every Brave should strive to be on and off the court.

Alex Mazeika! One of the best post up turn-around jumpshots ever on the Hilltop. Wonder what ever happened to the Clinton, Iowa monster?

Gee, I am so sorry for asking that question. There are differences. I roomed in college with a star basketball player and he was a genuinely nice guy compared to about anyone athlete or not (Tom Brown, UWGB & Providence St. Mel HS), but most of the other basketball players were a bunch of stuck up kids who looked down on others and treated others as inferior. If you don't think that is true about a lot of BB players you are living in a fantasy world or you are (or once was) one of them and don't understand.

You stated the Hawk was a nice guy. I simply asked "Was he nice as compared to other players (some can be really snobby athletes) or was he nice as would be compared to the average Joe?" There is a difference. What is so wrong about that? All you had to do was say yes or no, or you were not sure about the question and I could have restated it. You don't have to be a smart ___. That's one thing bad about this (and other) discussion boards... Sometimes you ask a simple and innocent question and you get jumped on. Someone else jumped on me too. Thanks for piling on. I just asked a simple question because I did not know the Hawk and I was curious. I had always hoped and thought he was, but you never know until you ask someone who knows him. Did you enjoy your smart ___ comment? Is that how you like to treat people and get your jollies?

GDog, been reading your posts for a long time and you seem to know your BU basketball, that's what made your question about the Hawk so odd. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

Well, I overreacted to your post. Anyway, thanks for your sentiment. No big thing. I tend to overreact... sorry for that, too... I was in college at UW-Green Bay during most of Hersey's days and I moved back during his senior year and watched many games, but I was working 60+ a week and did not have any contact with him or anyone who knew him at the time. My orignal question was innocent and sincere. Thanks for your reply.

Just 2 great BU fans. I was such a great fan of the Hawk's that his rookie season in the NBA I kept of running total of all his game stats. When he was in town with Jim Les for a basketball camp, and was a member of the Sonics, I showed all that to him and Jim. They sat down with me for quite awhile and made comments like, 'Did I really shoot that many times in a game as a rookie." Just a favorite memory of knowing, IMO, the greatest player in BU history.

No doubt " the sheriff"

No doubt he was a great player, but he has really seemed to have cut ties to BU since he left. I don't think he would agree with the saying "Once a Brave, always a Brave". His lack of contact would change the saying to something like: "Once a Brave, and now that part of my life is over and I am moving on." I am not saying that is wrong, just making an observation.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but who is "The Sheriff?"

Thanks coachcorn.. Zach and Boogie were great on and off the court and I am looking forward to see Sean Harris.

DANNY GRANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always thought he was an amazing talent that BU should never have let leave by firing Molinari. I knew right away future NBA player. What a shame he left. But by far my favorite BU player of all time and wish I could have watched him all 4 years! I love watching him on Pacers though. What a player! Best BU talent ever!!!! No argument about it
