Final: Bradley 61 MSU 59

Thought I heard Shaw still was kind of sick

Seems to me the players now have that feeling they are going to blow any game they have a lead. Bell played a nice game until the last two minutes

Gave up way too many offensive rebounds

Didn't seem like we hit many calls late in the game

Usually the thread title is changed when we lose to reflect the score;)

The title is also changed after every game we win and has been for the last 10 years....Same as when we lose. I usually get to it when I get home after the games. Editing the title takes a few more steps than I can easily do with the cellphone. Nothing more than that,. but nice try with the conspiracy theory. :)

congrats Braves

congrats Braves

Since I've been a pretty vocal critic, want to give kudos to ford and Braves for hanging on. I was actually impressed with a "hidden" alley pop to Thomas out of a to....good play geno. I thought Jones hit a huge 3. I don't think he will continue to get the calls on the feet kicked out on the shot after a couple more games. Also shoot not to get fouled but to make them.

MO state isn't very good. If they shoot 65% from free throw line we go to ot.

seems like Jones shoots that all the time though??¦

And I agree??¦it seemed we had some nice plays for some good shots even though we didn't convert on all of them??¦

We also seemed to play good defense for 30 seconds only for them to take a forced shot that either missed so bad they got the rebound or we couldn't hang on to it??¦.:x

Thank goodness we were playing a team who has forgotten how to win as we did everything humanly possible to try and lose. I think Chad said it pretty good on the post game that we almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Geno talked after the game about how Austin and KDB stepped up in the huddle during the last few time outs yet they were the ones who made the mistakes that about cost us the game. Then Geno uses the injury excuse to explain why we don't have any strength and that's why we got outrebounded. The reason we got outrebounded is there were too many times we were standing flat footed and Missouri State's players were hustling after the ball. Shaw was not supposed to play as he was sick and he looked like it in his 2 minutes in the game. The fouls/points a-meter now stands for Shaw at 67/56 while X now has 59 fouls and 62 points. Now that I got the bad stuff out of the way there was some good stuff. Donte had a good 1st half and his two 3 pointers actually had a little bit of arc on them. I'm not sure I've ever seen one guy get fouled 3 separate times when he's shooting a 3 pointer. At least Warren finally made all 3 FT's for the 1st time this year after getting fouled. And it was nice to see a bigger crowd than the last home game. Hopefully we can make it 2 in a row on Wednesday.

I don't believe what I just saw!
I don't believe what I just saw,
Did this really happen?"

And the monitor of the board is the nit-picker?

I know - nice to have a few of those plays installed...
but you don't win games with a single play or two that get you 2 points -
you win with intense, well-played offense & defense for 40 minutes...

We clearly spend time in practices with Cunningham, Thomas, and Tramique practicing and perfecting their lob plays -
but it sure seems at times like maybe we are sacrificing time practicing for the other 39.9 minutes of the game.

This game just validated why our basketball program needs a change. Fundamentally we are horrible. They continue to play defense with their hands and arms and over guard when the ball is 25 feet from the basket. That is why they commit fouls when the ball handler is not a threat or when they are fighting through a screen away from the ball.

Our offense the last five minutes looked like a bunch of cardboard cut-outs. The guard with the ball dribbled in place at the top of the key. The other four players just stood there. No movement at all. It was unbelievable. Our offense the last 5 minutes was nothing but Jones shooting the 3 ball. It was the most inept case of coaching I have seen in a long time. BU will lose at MO State.

I actually thought the offense looked better for most of the game.Better ball movement. We got some easy shots??¦.many which we didn't convert but some we did??¦.

Not sure what you mean, but I did not see anything that seemed unusual. I thought the officials (O'Neill, Stevens, Burdett), who are all veteran officials, did a good job. The turnovers in the final minute were at the far end of the court from where my seat is, so I did not see anything that leads me to think they weren't right.
