Bradley's final scheduled game is at Drake, Sat. March 1, at 2:05 PM.
There is no TV for this game.

Bradley is 12-18, and 7-10 in the MVC, and will finish the regular season with the 7th seed.
Drake is 14-15, and 5-12 in the MVC, and will finish as either the 8th or 9th seed. Drake lost at Evansville on Tuesday 61-48.

Bradley played Drake January 4, in the first MVC home game, and Bradley won 68-57-

Drake was picked to finish 10th in the MVC Preseason poll. They lost Gary Ricks, Jr., their senior point guard and second leading scorer to injury in game 8, but Boston College transfer Jordan Daniels has played well for them and is shooting 48% from three, tops on the team. Their leading scorer is senior Richard Carter, a juco transfer, who averages 16.2 ppg, 4th in the MVC. They are the best 3-point shooting team in the MVC, shooting 39.1% on the season, while Bradley is 10th at 31.8%. Drake has 6 players who shoot over 35%, while none of Bradley's regulars are above 35%.

we have to win this to avoid a 20-loss season

This would be GF's 2nd 20-loss season..
JL had only one 20-loss season (12-20)- (season-ending loss of two best players plus decided to go play Duke on the road...)
Jim Molinari had two, Stan Albeck had 2, Versace, Stowell, Orsborn, Forddy Anderson, AJ Robertson (nearly 30 seasons) never had a 20-loss season
..in fact no other coach before that ever had even ONE
Bradley has had seven 20-loss seasons in 110 years of basketball....

GF already has 60 losses in his first 3 years, for an average of 20 per year.
No Bradley coach in history has ever averaged 20 losses a year over any 3-year period. And no coach has ever played in a play-in game 3 years in a row. There are numerous other infamous records that have been set these last couple years, but nobody would know from all the glowing coverage the PJ Star gives us.
So it would be nice to win this final game, and top that with a win in St. Louis to get some momentum going into next year.

Over the last five games - 4 losses plus the really ugly win over Loyola... here's how our guys have been shooting....

Player .. FG%.............3-pt shooting
Lemon 30-83(36%), 8-21(38%)
Pickett 21-61(34%), 0-7(0%)
Barnes 18-34(53%), 9-14(64%)
Grier 9-37(24%), 5-23(22%)
Bell 6-25(24%), 3-7(43%)

OBVIOUS conclusions..
1) Lemon needs to stop forcing shots and be more selective - anyone who has been watching can see ..
his open jumpers tend to go down, but his forced and off balanced shots are hurting us.

2) Pickett is forcing it as much as anyone -
he needs to STOP trying to be our 3-point ace. Stay as close to the hoop as you can - last night shows how effective you can be there.

3) Barnes needs to get the ball more and shoot more - he's been the only bright spot in our offense for two weeks.

4) Grier obviously is off his game. He has to get more selective and shoot only when wide open. His shots while guarded are terrible.

5) Ka-Darryl likewise can help with his outside shooting if he selects his shots better.

Overall - our offense needs to share the ball, get players open, off screens, and get the ball into the hands of the open shooters.

Instead we stand around, dribble too much, launch low percentage shots that we still haven't learned after 30 gms are hurting not helping

This bunch of guys cannot play team basketball! IMO We have 2 seniors who want to do it all themselves and that is why you see a lot of standing around and waiting for one of those 2 to do their thing and then everyone react. Does that make them bad guys NO! They are both hard working guys who probably think we are seniors we need to carry the load. The others seem to follow their lead. Geno is in bad situation how do you get them to do this? You can't sit either one of them to set an example who would you play? Look XT earn minutes over a senior who just never panned out. He needs to recruit better! This team just did not buy in at all to team basketball at all.

Does anyone know if you can get wmbd on xm/Sirius radio?
The early start to the game is keeping me from going to Des Moines, so now I'm heading to Chicago . Thanks-

Why does everyone get hung up on 20 wins or 20 losses? From '56-'79, Bradley never played more than 29 games, so theres a few sub .350 winning seasons that they didn't play enough to lose 20 games.
'76-'77 9-18 .333 Stowell
'78-'79 9-17 .346 Versace
Those seasons should get tallies just as much as
'89-'90 11-20 .355 Albeck
'10-'11 12-20 .375 Les

Is anyone aware of any TV for the Drake game? I have looked at BU.tv and all they show is WMBD audio.

It is not listed anywhere. However, Drake does have their online streaming with Neulion, the same as Bradley, and in the past, they have sometimes made video streams available to Bradley subscribers. I'll see if this might be possible.

And the TuneIn Radio app works great for any smartphone. WMBD is available, as are thousands of other radio stations.

Also, the WMBD website streams their broadcast- go here and click on the Listen Live link on the right side-

I just got an email back from Bobby Parker, who already had talked to the Drake people about sharing the video stream.
The BU-Drake game will be made available on BU.tv to subscribers.

Me and my wife and daughter will be at the game. Anybody else on this board?

And could someone please take the snow out of the weekend forecast so we can get home on Sunday?

I've been to the game at Drake every year for the past 25+ years, including the year when the ice storm closed I-80 and the Bradley team took something like 7 hours to get there, and Bradley administrators were turned back.
But the weather forecast may make me miss this year.

We all remember what happened after that 9-17 season. Actually that was a pretty good coaching job after what DV was left with. The previous season BU had all 5 starters returning and could only come up with a .500 record.

Made many trips to the Drake games. Some great memories, but nothing tops the pass from Les to Hawkins for a last second win during the 32-3 season. Also when the Drake student section wore Versace wigs. Dick got a kick out of it and went up into the stands for a chat. The kids got a kick out of it also.

Excellent! Bobby, let me congratulate you on exponential improvements in BU TV this year. The stream looks great! If I could offer some suggestions:

1. Create an app that can be viewed on iPhone/iPad/Roku/Apple TV. It would let me watch this while traveling, and not have to figure out how to get it to my TV (right now I use Google Chromecast).

2. Add a scoreboard at the bottom with a shot clock!

3. Add a direct flight from NJ to Peoria so I can easily fly in on weekends to watch games in person (hey, a guy can dream, right?).

Thanks for all you do!

IPad/iPhone users forget that there are more android users than there are iPad users....Bobby...don't forget us!

Dave Reynolds' column looks completely past the Saturday game with Drake and talks about BU & the tourney....kinda saying strangely optimistic things like ...
-how we did better this year because we have a chance to finish with 8 league wins (we don't have 8 yet - may not get to eight and even if we do - it's a pretty weak argument since two of our wins are vs. Loyola instead of the Creighton squad we had to play last year & lost them both.)
-how there's "positives" in the fact that we have to play the play-in round
-that winning a Thursday game as the 7th seed would be an improvement over the past two years -- omg..:roll:
-that a win on Thursday only would be a "small victory" that is all we have left to root for ??
-chemistry issues is what stalled us -- even tho we are lacking in just about every area of the game...

Then this....
".... a best-case scenario for BU would be to get to Friday and knock off the Sycamores."

In other words - the BEST CASE scenario would be win Thursday, then win Friday then give up??
Sorry - but I still think our best case scenario is surprise everyone and win the entire freaking tournament - although I agree it is unlikely...but that's what I see our best case scenario as - and I hope the coaches and the team try to win all four games as well.

Since we beat Loyola I'm sure Madame President and Dr. Cross were getting their talking points ready, about how we've progressed each season in the Valley. And just wait for what happens if we beat Loyola on Thursday. I'm sure they will talk about that the next step has been taken. Their Kool-aide must be spiked with something if they think we've made progress.
