Final: Evansville 66 Bradley 60

Who doesn't struggle on this team and who isn't a secret? Give me someone who can shoot the 3 at 60% and I'll overlook only 3 turnovers in 11 minutes.

I guess my point is he came in when nobody expected him to play and made some shots for 2 games??¦.and the 60% is pretty small sample at 3-5??¦??¦.and would we want him in at the end of the game where he is a poor ft shooter at 33%???¦.I know it's not fair since he's only shot 3??¦.Mason will play some and if he gets some looks hopefully he'll make some shots but I don't see teams leaving him wide open and depending on who else is in may make it tough to play him for extended periods of time IMO.

from the post game quotes -
"Marty’s kids are always physical,” Ford said. “It took us 20 minutes to figure out the physicality"

"More guys on the team have to play hard, not just the five starters."

Again - how can we not be prepared when this is something we ALWAYS encounter?
..and people not playing hard this far into the season and a must win but winnable road game that could have vaulted us into 3rd place - the highest we've been in January in a long time.
Can someone step up and do what's necessary for us to be prepared and play hard -
ISN'T THAT THE MINIMUM THAT FANS SHOULD EXPECT AT THE D-I LEVEL? - Certainly at Bradley University -- I have a little pride, ya know...
is it any wonder that attendance, fan interest, and fan support are disappearing faster than global warming talk...

do you equate playing hard to being prepared?

In case people didn't see the PJS..the first partial quote was Ford's obviously and the second one was Taylor's....which I think is interesting for a freshman....can XT be the vocal leader of this team next year?

do you equate playing hard to being prepared?
no - two different but extremely important things - and it's inexcusable at this point that we have BOLD admissions that neither is happening.

...can XT be the vocal leader of this team next year?
..wow - I guess you see this 180 degrees differently than I do..
I see an unproductive newcomer who plays limited minutes calling out his teammates as a really bad thing, but you see it as good.
I think it is the coaching staff's job to get them prepared to play and to play hard..
and if someone is NOT playing hard, then it is the coaching staff's job to address this and find do what's necessary to resolve this serious issue.
If it doesn't get done then changes need to be from the absolute top on down.
OMG - stop blaming the players - and as some have done - irresponsibly keep blaming someone else as far back as the Molinari era!!

Again - going back to PROMISES made time and time again - in the press, at his introduction as AD, and on our chats - we have been promised that all these changes, and all this spending and hiring would give us results - guaranteed!
We were promised we'd be regularly competing for championships, that our athletes would give us 100%, we'd see IMPROVEMENT, and and fans would be happy with the results.

I see a gradual decline in the past 3 years - very discouraging - talk endlessly of not being prepared, not buying into the system, not being ready for what the other team ALWAYS DOES, not being tough, and now still being a few years away. Even Kirk Wessler thinks it's gonna take several more years before the rebuilding gets us going in the right direction - and apparently he's willing to sit back and wait for those several more years.

Once again - I liken this to someone who forcibly takes the wheel of you car, drives you off course, over horrible terrain, way out into the wilderness miles from anywhere then tells you things are looking up and we've only got a little more ways to go until we're in paradise when we all know that's just not going to happen.

Excuses, excuses, excuses....but our team is 100% totally healthy ..and we've had since August to be prepared...
..there should be no excuses...
no talk of how if just one shot hadn't fallen it would have been a different game..
no talk of how we really did play one good half...
no talk of how we're just one tiny step from "vastly changing our fortunes" as DR says..

this team is clearly now battling only to stay out of last place - let alone Thursday night...
but it gets worse....as I noted elsewhere - next year, we lose almost all of whatever we do have that could possibly win games for us...we could conceivably be one of the worst teams in D-I next year - 340+ RPI .. I don't like what I see, and when I talk to other Bradley fans or when I look around Carver Arena, I also see that I am not alone.

.

You misunderstood T.....I wasn't implying that at all. Just throwing the question out there. I don't know if it's good or not for a freshman to say something like that. I wouldn't say X is unproductive though either...he's a freshman who fouls too much....seems like its been that way for years with our bigs. Will was a vocal leader but got into foul trouble fairly often too. Again I'm not saying X should or could be a leader...maybe it's more about nobody else stepping up to say anything from the team.

What I do like about Taylor is that he seems passionate, coachable, and plays hard...he doesn't always execute and/or understand some things but as a freshman big I think he's doing ok and has huge potential for us

done

done

Not going to another game giving the rest of my tickets away and done cant watch this #250 rpi team anymore. Ill go get my BB fix at icc

I think T will develope into a pretty good player. He has to earn his lumps and play thru his learning process but come out a very good player. I lick my chops thinking off him and Mike Shaw in the same lineup

I have been in favor of XT starting since the first few games - might as well be building for the future...
... but I don't see it as good that he is apparently singling out a few players with his comments - his comments are a rather biting criticism of a handful of players who he is clearly saying don't "play hard".

Hey....if its the truth so be it!

I don't think we played all that bad honestly. We are not a good road team anyways and Evansville has our number at their place.

We just don't have outside shooters, but our defense was very good. We were supposed to lose and we did. Get over it guys.

We should be pleased at least with the addition of Taylor and Barnes. These guys are confident and play hard and not timid.

We need to get a new PG cause relying on Walt to score 20+ each game to win isn't going to cut it.

Onto the next game!

IMO: We were not supposed to lose.

I expect to win tonight too!

Am I wrong? Should I stay home? because, I think if we attack Lynch and get him in early foul trouble they get real small and we can kill them from 5 ft and in.

That is a good game plan. They can have games where they shoot very well from the perimeter, and they can be really bad in other games. They have not shot well on the road, so I see Bradley playing some zone tonight.
