Final game: Bradley vs. Murray State, Sunday, March 1, 1:00 pm

Sunday's schedule with the betting lines. Bradley is a 3.5 point favorite.
UIC is a 3.5 point road favorite at Indiana State; UNI a 3.5 point road favorite at Drake, and Illinois State a 1.5 point favorite at home against Belmont.-

Man so much on the line tomorrow.
Indy St could upset UIC but most importantly BU has to take care of business. I'll take the 3 seed and we all want the seniors to go out with a W.
I'm pretty sure they all wanted to perform a little better this season, but a classy group of seniors and represent Bradley well.

don't know if mentioned...
The Player Availability Report says Murray State will be without..
-Layne Taylor- a starting point guard and 4th leading scorer at 8.1 ppg, 3.5 assists & 35% 3-point shooting
-Brock Vice- backup center averaging 2 ppg & 2 rpg, but slightly more in MVC play
- also, starting guard JJ Traynor suffered a right shoulder injury several games ago, and altho he is back playing, his numbers
are way down...Since the injury, he is averaging just 3.4 ppg & 2.0 rpg and shooting just 7-27 (25.9%) overall and 14% from 3-pt.

When will we find out what sections we have for the tournament?

Fred King has been dominant all year.... 13.0 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 65% FG shooting.

and yet just the last four games (two of which were losses), his numbers have declined a bit (9 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 59% FG shooting)
Could it be he's wearing down a bit or other teams have figured better ways to defend?
I am hoping our bigs can shut him down...
.... but 6-9 Domon worries me as we often have sub-6-footers defending on the wing

Domon is a matchup problem for everyone. He's a heck of a lot better player than Mason Miller but I've always just assumed that the way that Coach Miller basically has a 1A and 1B team that he helps balance out the scoring on the "B" squad even though he's definitely one of their five best players.

Yup
that last out of bounds call was ridiculous - Meta never touched the ball...
I wish Coach would use that challenge more...

I think it was a well played first half on both sides. Murray State is a good team. Some bad calls from the refs and missed free throws to clean up in the second half. Hope we can figure out a way to pull it out at the end.

refs keeping it close...
44 fouls, 60 FTs

Murray State averages 84 points per game... we're gonna hold them to well under 80

Final score
Bradley 87 - Murray State 78

FOURTH consecutive 20-win season for the Braves...
All four seasons that Meta has been here - Hmmm.....
(btw- Meta- 9pts, 9reb, 2 blks (I think he had more), 1 steal, altered dozens of shots, had zero turnovers and DID NOT MISS a shot all day_

Murray State goes 4-8 over their final 12 MVC games, after starting the season 8-0

Note that the sorta "Preseason Poll" that came out back in October looked like this - LINK
Only Belmont & Bradley among the top finishers, exceeded the predictions and did better...
That, I think puts Brian Wardle & Casey Alexander as the only two legit candidates for Coach of the Year

Jaquan solidified his claim as Player of the Year but voters still sometimes lean toward giving it to a player on the top team

(** FWIW- Murray State's game plan to give the ball to Domon almost every time down the court and let him go one-on-everyone
might work in many games when he's hot, but it takes everyone else out and I think it hurt their offense overall.)

Nice gameplan by the Braves.
A lot of key plays in the 2nd half. The seniors played well. Glad for this group!

Bradley fans got to see the team get their 20th win, finishing the regular season 20-11, 13-7. Plus we got to watch the Roman Domon Clown Show. I've never seen a game where one player embellished every contact, and flailed, flopped, and acted his way to a dozen foul calls and 16 free throws. What a joke that was.
