Final: San Francisco 75 Bradley 64

Bradley looked about as bad as I have seen them since the Geno Ford era.
BU lead at halftime 37-36, but then were outscored in the 2nd half 34-23.
Bradley shot 19-60 (31.7%) for the game, and 8-32 (25.0%) in the 2nd half, and an abysmal 1-17 from three in the 2nd half
Rebounds- USF 46 Bradley 25
I hope the coaches are recruiting a couple proven shooters for next year.

Final score- San Francisco 75 Bradley 64
Bradley drops to 1-3

If this team doesn't learn how to rebound it is going to be a long season.

The rebounding differential with the poor shooting is killing us. They outrebounded us by 21 and we only shot 6% from the 3 in the second half. Who is our clutch guy when we need a 3? All of our loses were entirely winnable games, just need to knock down the shots. Our shooting percentages for the year have to be horrible.

We excel at FTs and forcing TOs but the rest of the game is terrible.

Just another piss poor performance from 3 and in our rebounding. Frankly we keep playing like this and we'll be playing on Thursday at Arch Madness. Not much else to say.

We have players that cannot rebound and shoot. Why are the touted freshman sitting since they could not do worse then some of the guys that are playing too many minutes and don"t rebound and shoot really bad. Stats do not lie and if you keep playing the same guys it is hard to make good sense out of this plan. These guys that are not contributing enough are seniors, give the younger players a chance because they could not do worse in rebounding or shooting. Coach comes on and complains about this problem but the only way to try and solve this problem is taking away playing time.

Agree 100%

We don't know what's going on at practice but I would make some changes beginning with starting line up. Start meta, timo, Burch, Alex, and Johnson. Corey off bench with smith, wheeler, and our freshmen. If the teams has bigs use yu in situations. Spread the floor and speed things up. Play smaller quicker line ups and crash the boards. We can't rebound any worse. Team is thinking too much. Just go play. I think we need to speed things up and wear other team out.

Missed layups & giving up way too many offensive rebounds
Time to see if Handy can help on the boards

Our performance was def better than on Wednesday. Showing some improvement. Demarion was a nice spark. Wheeler and Van Der Knapp don’t do much for me.

I will keep complaining until they play Zobrist. We lack shooting and he’s a lights out shooter. Need at least 2-3 (preferably 4) shooters on the floor. Right now, they are locked in on Alex.

We are def a Thursday night team right now.

I thought AJ was brought in to play the 4. When you have him outside at the 3 shooting 3 pointers how is he suppose to rebound. When Jashon Henry played we used him inside more and really never wanted him to shoot 3 point shots .Thomas and Meta are 5"s and we only need one of them on the floor period. Alex got a lot of good looks last night unfortunately he missed many of them. I would play AJ and Tim at the 4 . The guards will be ok. as long as they learn to take open shots and not just drive recklessly to the basket. The mid range shot is a good one for smaller guys to take in the game.

A.J. Smith is a no show during 3 of the 4 games played. Corey Thomas you can put him in there also. Never seen a Bradley team get pounded as bad as we have under the basket. Where is the effort to rebound. Can we get Coach Stowell to teach the fundamentals of boxing out and get proper positioning for rebounding. Bright spots are free throw percentage and creating turnovers. Lot of good that does if you miss most of your shots and no offensive rebounding. Call me the eternal optimist, but I believe Coach Wardle will get the team to gel going forward. Remember last year the team had if I remember a three game losing streak and before that some subpar performances. Better to have these struggles early in the year than later I guess. Only way to get out of this funk is to keep practicing hard and play your way out of it with coaches pointing out what needs to be improved upon in every practice and games. Let's get back home and start a winning streak going.

Yes Everybody knew it would take a few games to get this group playing properly. Wardle is looking at have them ready by conference time

to be fair, the non-con does not matter at all. Shoot, even the conference season doesn't matter. we could lose every game, and rattle off 4 in a row to make the NCAA tourney. In this day and age of being a mid-major, winning the tournament is the only thing that gets you there.

I agree this is on wardle. play the freshmen. can't do much worse!!! Also, if you don't play them, guess what? THEY PROBABLY LEAVE!

The irony is, we are typically terrible at FT, and now thats the only thing we kind of do well.

Great point and been thinking the same all last week. We have 2 of the top 5 Freshmen from IL and one has only seen a couple min. of garbage time, and the other gets about 7 min. a game and can't remember him shooting. Time to give the freshman some PT! Senior class is WEAK this year - didn't expect that.

Maybe the only time since the Covid season that I just didn't feel like sharing my reaction to a game the day after. I tried not to think of the Braves yesterday and luckily the Bears came thru again! Still doesn't take away the bad taste about our beloved Braves. This team right now sucks.

This statement shouldn't be taken lightly and is concerning. Not sure if the coaches were looking ahead after losing so much talent from last season. They should have been looking ahead to this season BEFORE last season, maybe even during the previous season, knowing the team was heavily loaded and this is what would be gone after last season.

Good point. In hind sight, should have passed on bringing back Zeke and brought in someone with more eligibility. Same with Linke although I don’t remember if he was a scholarship player or walk on.

Too early to say for sure... but I do agree that if this turns out to be a rebuild year, we should play the younger guys who will help us rebuild. Another good possibility is that we see this team gel and turn it around. Makes you appreciate how solid we've been the past few years when you see it take a "market correction."
